The winner of this event will have an asterisk next to their name. It’s not “worlds” when it’s pretty much only one part of the world competing.

Similar experience here except I am on Light Bicycle rims and I laced them to Hope hubs. It’s been 4 years now, never even have to retension. I did collect a rock in the rear wheel once, so I had to respoke it since 3 spikes broke, but nothing but good things to say about carbon hoops that aren’t designed for weight weenies.

Worry about things that you can control. Find a risk mitigation for the ones you can’t. Connor is doing both.

Good luck on your quest grizzatom. In the USA at least, everyone's opinion matters. Suspension experts, physicist, mechanical engineers etc. with provable facts are no more important than what someone feels in their gut is happening on the bike beneath them. Actually someone with a theory may have more influence, as long as they can tie it to a conspiracy theory. Let me try "The big bad bike companies are telling us that pedal kickback is not a huge problem because re-engineering would reduce their profits. Many riders are sick of this phenomenon so this small company from Italy is out to solve this problem that we all know exist".

There is absolutely no pedal kickback unless the hub is engage. Dan Roberts, Steve at Vorsprung, DT and many others have tried to pound this into peoples' heads. There are multiple things happening whether we are pedaling or freewheeling, but the definition of pedal kickback...more

I tend to like a little bit of pedal kick back on technical climbs. If I want the suspension to stay high in its travel I will resist the kickback force with my legs, hindering the compression of the suspension. If I don't care about blowing through the travel, I will just let the cranks rotate back a couple degrees.

I get what they are trying to get across, Seth and Todd seem like great people, I just think it sends the wrong message.

In your review of the heckler you mentioned adding a shorter stem to help front wheel traction. I thought the opposite would be true, a longer stem helping gain more front wheel traction?

That was my bad, I was the out of towner and I should have. I thought we were just gonna ride slabs and stuff which aren't trails for any kind of bike but the last trail was a bike only trail.

Do your brakes also get wonky in cold temps? Mine don't and neither does the reverb hydraulics. Just saying, something to think about.

This makes me happy for all those mid-to-low-range mountain bikes! This range now has good suspension, good brakes, good wheels, good droppers and a good drivetrain. I hope the price of bikes are low to spread the fun.
