Our sport has had a massive influx in the last couple of years. More riders, more money, more media attention and as a byproduct more trails. Overall I think this is a good thing. More MTB specific trails are great, especially single direction MTB trails. But there has also been a trend in the last few years to make the most bland, boring repetitive trails when it comes to building something new. Part of this seems to be legit trail building operations getting their hands on power tools. Where once you had to build your trail to work with the...

Similar experience here except I am on Light Bicycle rims and I laced them to Hope hubs. It’s been 4 years now, never even have to retension. I did collect a rock in the rear wheel once, so I had to respoke it since 3 spikes broke, but nothing but good things to say about carbon hoops that aren’t designed for weight weenies.

Here is the full announcement from Nukeproof team manager Nigel Page regarding Sam Hill sitting out the 2020 EWS season (however the "season" will turn out): ------------------------------------------------------------------- It’s been a crazy year for everyone, our thoughts go out to all those effected by the current Covid-19 situation. Like most of you, we’ve been eager to get back to do what we love; racing bikes. However, after much discussion and consideration and in respect for all involved, we have decided Sam Hill will not travel to Europe this year to compete in the 2020 EWS races. Where Sam lives in Western...

Good luck on your quest grizzatom. In the USA at least, everyone's opinion matters. Suspension experts, physicist, mechanical engineers etc. with provable facts are no more important than what someone feels in their gut is happening on the bike beneath them. Actually someone with a theory may have more influence, as long as they can tie it to a conspiracy theory. Let me try "The big bad bike companies are telling us that pedal kickback is not a huge problem because re-engineering would reduce their profits. Many riders are sick of this phenomenon so this small company from Italy is...

I tend to like a little bit of pedal kick back on technical climbs. If I want the suspension to stay high in its travel I will resist the kickback force with my legs, hindering the compression of the suspension. If I don't care about blowing through the travel, I will just let the cranks rotate back a couple degrees.

e-Bikes are certainly exciting! My heart went into overdrive last week when someone almost took me out on an e-Bike! Something about riding on trails (illegal in my area mind you) too fast for the trail, and in this individual based on the whites of his eyes, beyond his skill level. Yeah, not a fan. But, I did see a fellow on one a few months back with oxygen to his nose. That is the only use case I can get behind. And damn, those prices! you could buy a dialed top end bike for that money and still have...

That was my bad, I was the out of towner and I should have. I thought we were just gonna ride slabs and stuff which aren't trails for any kind of bike but the last trail was a bike only trail.

These are beautiful but it still amazes me how roadies resist better braking solutions.

Does your suspension damper fluid also freeze up? It would have to because they are very similar oils. What does tend to happen a lot is that some bike shops don't bleed the levers correctly causing the post to stop working when cold because the fluid has contracted.

Do your brakes also get wonky in cold temps? Mine don't and neither does the reverb hydraulics. Just saying, something to think about.
