nathan999x Added a reply to Are downhill bikes worth it if you're not racing?
5/23/2026 7:48am I am in a similar situation and am looking at buying a dh bike for the park. I have seen lots of good deals on the Commencal Furious, but I am unsure of riding a 27.5 bike as I haven't ridden one in years. Have I just been bike industry brainwashed that I need a full 29 or mullet setup?

8/6/2025 5:03pm Features Needed: (I may re-sort into order of importance. These are listed as they occur to me, which is relevant in and of itself, but often not the same) pockets on the sides, for easy quick access. (very small) buckle / belt fastening off set to one side. internal hook for car keys Decent place for phone (harder than it looks) external straps or loops or both easy to pull zippers naturally curved shape some kind of internal sorting / storage / mini pockets (very flat if not used, nothing "heavy duty) some place to put your name across the...

8/6/2025 5:03pm I have never considered a hip pack, so I'm not really your customer. However, if I was looking at one, I'd be greatly swayed by innovative features that competitors may not offer. A quick-access phone sleeve would be cool. If you could make the tool pouch side divisible with partitions, that's interesting too: I don't know if I'd need a whole pouch just for tools, but a multitool and a GoPro would probably go in it. It would be nice to protect the camera in a different compartment. I would probably prefer a water bladder over none.

nathan999x Started a new thread What features do you look for in a MTB hip pack
8/6/2025 11:57am Hey Folks, For a University project, I am working on creating a brand that makes a hip pack for mountain biking. I am wondering what key features you look for in a riding hip pack. My current design is around 5L and features two main pockets, one for a hydration bladder and one for your tools. The bag uses inner...

3/8/2022 4:19pm I'm not at all an e-bike advocate but looking at what they did doesn't really bother me. It's basically a sentinel with a motor. I could be wrong but I'm assuming that there wasn't a huge amount of cost involved in the design. It seems like all these manufacturers are hopping on the ebb boat because it makes them a shit load of money. If they are able to make some cash off this thing and dump it into still making sweet bikes, and paying cool riders, and making cool videos, then it seems like some pretty sound logic.

1/22/2022 5:20pm Not trying defend Gwin, but if he is such a jerk or difficult to work with, why would Neko be ok with his good riding buddy, Dak joining a team where the owner and principal rider is onerous. Further, why would Whitely, who has extensive time working with Gwin, send one of his athletes to Gwin’s team. As for products, I recall Gwin wanted to carry Onza over to the new program, but, from the sounds of the interviews I heard, they were not able due to contractual obligations. I love how YT has skated on their second disbanding of...

7/11/2021 2:56pm Tannus tubeless is the best money to performance ratio. Cushcore is still marginally better than it in terms of outright protection and support. Tannus does a good job and provides a good on trail feel and at ~1/2 the cost of Cush it’s hard to beat.
