6/2/2026 5:00pm So like, between your finger and the grip is there your gloves bunch? It seems most riders prefer a thin grip, but I’ve found a thicker grip to be beneficial. Might help if that’s your issue. odi rogues have been good for me.

6/2/2026 9:37am I think the purpose of that little tab is to be a mini chain guide for the upper pulley in big chain slap moments. Pull the cage forward by hand and imagine the chain slapping and flopping around. Seems like it'd be easy for the chain to jump off the upper pulley if that tab wasn't there. I just checked a couple of X01 derailleurs in the old parts bin because the clutches started to wear out, and you can clearly see that the chain has hit that tab.

5/29/2026 12:48pm Don't get me started on "matchy-matchy." I have been known to consume hours when putting stickers on my helmet, making sure they are straight and symmetrical with other logos. You know you have a real problem when you are aware that sometimes you have a to put a sticker on slightly crooked so it will appear straight. Back to the...

5/26/2026 9:36am I don't have a van, but I'm a serious player when it comes to the game of moto Tetris. I often have to get three motorcycles and a whole weekend's worth of equipment into my Tacoma. Here are some basic premises that I have found to be useful: -Stack things that will nest: I put my gas can inside my...

5/26/2026 8:46am Not sure if I should be proud or embarrassed, but I recently wrote down every bike that I’ve owned (and can remember) in a spreadsheet. Across genres including kid bikes, mountain (DH, XC, Trail), road/gravel, BMX, and dirt jumpers, I have owned 102 bikes. Some of these are just new frames with swapped over parts, but I consider that a different bike for this purpose. I might have a problem. The most bikes by far are BMX (26) and DJ (19), as I was a 6 night a week skatepark kid growing up. I wish my skills were better for...

5/26/2026 8:46am Asterisk means currently using, most built up as frames, I don't buy complete bikes that often. Banshee - Rune 3 Bridgestone - MB-6, worked at McDonald's in high school in the early 1990s at to buy that one for like 300-400 dollars new. Rode this to school as a commuter bike in the Phoenix metro area in AZ. If you were going to have to ride a bike to school way cooler than a 3 or 10 speed road bike back in those days Evil - Insurgent V1, Insurgent LS, Insurgent 3*, Wreckoning V1, Wreckoning V3* Guerilla Gravity - MegaTrail...

5/22/2026 1:25pm I just started thinking about this and took a neat little trip down memory lane. I'm sure some people have had (and still do have) many more bicycles than I ever have, but I feel like I've been lucky to own some good ones. I tend to keep a bike for a long time and only own one at a...

4/22/2026 5:11pm Hmmmm. In my mind, I am an absolute specimen who demands absolute perfection and zero flex. Perfect, zeroed performance right down to the millimeter. In reality, flex will help you out. Since I am also mindful of the fact that I can't really tell if my shock mount bolts are loose, (true story,) I probably wouldn't notice. IDK, I picked...

4/6/2026 2:35pm For the same reason I run the same tire brand F/R, the same brand jersey and shorts, the same brand of stem, bars and grips, and always put my pants on left-foot first, I would never run two different brands of suspension. The reason is I'm psychotic. That's the reason. No actual performance measurement, just psychosis.

4/3/2026 11:22am Another raw dog here. I ride without protection! I'm a pretty light rider though - 175 pounds or so. I'm easy on most components, including wheels. I tend to aim around the rocks and I think that has helped keep my wheels intact.

3/27/2026 3:16pm I haven't ridden there yet, but I have a friend who lives there and rides the western trails on the road to Blue Diamond and Pahrump. I'm going to make him show me Brohemian Rhapsody, just because it's funny. The trail looks cool, though:

3/25/2026 9:59am +1 for experimentation. It's been a long time since I took a physics class, but at that time I wanted to be an aerospace engineer. Take that for whatever it is. I'm thinking the larger wheel diameter doesn't contribute to excessive braking forces by way of a longer lever arm. (But additional weight, angular momentum? Yes.) Hear me out: the...
