Yes, 2008 was the final year of Trek/VW because 2007 was fhe final year of USAC’s National Mountain Bike Series(NMBS) and the contract was obviously not renewed, since there was literally nothing left worth attending. The NMBS was the creaky, sad skeleton of the NORBA national series- which at that point had turned into a product that USAC first allowed Team Big Bear and then the crew that used to be behind Sea Otter to license and run. Since 2008 we have had no actual centrally planned and run domestic elite...

The covid boom was just like cash for clunkers- stealing sales from future years to current year. My question is how long will that last? How long is the trough after the peak before prices and demand return to normal, or will another "crisis" arrive first? What happens with these firesales if all this older inventory never sells? What do you do with a 2 year old bike that won't sell?

I dont know anything about Dak, but Ryan has gotten his fastest times ever on the bike on runs he knows very well and can make good comparisons. Mondraker is keen to make the bike fast and and is making that a priority. So I think whomever is on the bike will do well.

Would be interesting to see Vans push into MTB... their shoes are already used to a great extent by park rats and freeriders and I am sure they have the $$$ to entice Semenuk if they choose to use him to jump into the MTB world 'officially'. Also wonder how this all coincides with Emil having more of a presence at Etnies. On a side note, the Etnies Culvert Mid shoes are my current favourite shoes to ride in so I appreciate all the effort they have put into their MTB range.

Just announce the team at once, not this long drawn out process over a week with one rider at a time.
