bandit350 Liked a comment about Press Release So, Ducati Has an E-Bike

It makes no sense to have a simple marketing release on a mtb site. I don’t like the idea of e bikes but I’d certainly watch Carlin Dunne send it on this thing.

I have two tow ropes, one tows the eldest, and he toes the youngest. Like you say, it opens up descending that they otherwise wouldn't access.

Me too, I only use the bottom of the cassette and am running 11sp. My main concern is range. I only have an ebike now because I use it to tow my 11year old son. He's fast on the way down but he isn't into hammering on the way up for two hours. Also I have two other kids at...

@TEAMROBOT and @PeteHaile these are really good points and questions and a large part of the reason why I'm not in the market for an e-bike currently (the other factor being cost). I'm not a new bike every year kinda guy, more like 3 years. I see 2-3 year old e-bikes for sale around me for a fraction of the original sticker price. The used bike market is jacked for anyone trying to sell a bike right now, but the hit on e-bikes seems even bigger. Back on the topic of range - I want all the battery built into...

hah, you don't know who I am, you don't know where/what I ride nor where I dig. The fact that you're using the word "illegal" tells what I need to know. The politics of each riding area are unique. Ironically, we're on the same team... the trails I am riding I was shown by some 'rad' dudes... back when we used to carry our bikes into trail entrances, when no dig no ride was enforced and the first rule of fight club was most of what mattered. Since then youtube, google earth and strava have blown up all of the...

I like that I have 10 (?) years of ride history in one place. It's fun to see trends over time.

My guess is that GG is being hit pretty hard with the bike market glut. So many big brands are blowing out bikes at 25% off because they overproduced, it's hard to compete. They're probably making some really hard cost decisions right now, and ending sponsorship deals is a not uncommon one

Kusa Liked a comment about photo WP Suspension on Gasgas E-Bike Proto

From WP site ” This is entirely in line with the uncompromising focus on technology. “White Power” Suspension – not a political statement, but an allusion to the striking white springs used for his products. Yet this colour choice is as iconic as it is pragmatic. The only coater in Peter’s home country, Malden in the Netherlands, makes hospital beds. These are typically white – and so will Peter’s springs. ”

Yea white power is definitely the original name. WHY it was named white power is not as clear. Just because your boss liked the name because he’s racist doesn’t mean they chose this name because they were racist.

boaz Liked a comment about Press Release Bright Racing Shocks Releases New SKUNK Fork

12/21/2022 2:47pm
It’s hard for me to wrap my head around how a fork with no sag could perform well off the top. This basically flies in the face of how I understand suspension. I am not a suspension engineer, but I ride at a reasonably high level. I also ride moto and setting sag correctly is key to getting bikes to ride well and balanced. Are rockshox, fox, ext, kayaba, and WP all getting it wrong? Don’t get me wrong, I’d love to try it, but I think there is a key concept here that isn’t clicking for me.

That's a really complex part to be machined in one piece, mainly because of the inside part of the chainstay. Also looks like has a "sandblasted" finish kinda like all the 3d printed parts have, I wonder if it's 3d printed aluminum.
