"THE FEST SERIES The Fest Series is a counter culture jam format founded by seven likeminded pro Mountain bike Free riders who couldn't express their style of riding in the existing events at the time and therefore created their own platform of events. For years, contests had been developed by corporations and promotors - Lacking innovation, vision, creativity and above all else, input from the riders themselves. The Fest Series has changed all that and vaulted their jam format to become THE INDUSTRY'S MOST POPULAR EVENT in 2015, as voted on by the 4 Million monthly users of Pinkblke.com. With...

Honestly, having skated and bmx'd I thought this was a sport clear of this elitist exclusionary bullshit where if you weren't part of the crew, wore the wrong brands or just had a different vibe you wouldnt be looked down on. Regardless if those are the reasons or not, "the fest" silence on this and tone of the snippet of a press release they have given makes them seem like the asshole at the skatepark who slates kids for riding a huffy. A sad day.

Basically said the fest series imposed rules on who can or can’t ride at a fest event and imposed rules on type of content that he can share. Obviously Sam didn’t agree with the rules and agreed to split ways. Didn’t throw any jabs their way or try to defend his character. His approach to the situation is really respectable. The fest guys, well not so much.

I'm assuming none of the fest riders will be attending rampage now. Don't think all that red bull money fits in with the core values of those riders. This comes across super gate keeper-y. This attitude is what has held action sports back.

The only thing that I can think of is Sam's build videos on his YouTube channel. Are they concerned that he's making too much off of those? Frankly, I'm often disappointed with the coverage of other Fest Series events. They show up out of nowhere, give a lackluster amount of coverage and then are gone.

"To be faaaaiiiiirrrrrrr", Sram said FU to the 160, 185, 203 rotor stack which makes no sense and went for the (140), 160, 180, 200, (220) stack, where the jumps are even 20 mm. Which means you need a +20 mm adaptor to go from a 160 mm frame to a 180 mm rotor. And the same adaptor to mount a 200 mm rotor to a 180 mm frame. So you need a +20 and a +40 adapter, that's it. You needed a +25 (or a '185') and a +43 (or a '203') adapter before, but what do you do...

To be faaaaiiiiirrrrrrr, the industry standard was 203mm until Sram decided they wanted to change things and make a 200mm rotor which is one reason people get mad a Sram. They have been known to try and create alot of new standards making things confusing and proprietary.

I've definitely come across many centerlocks that were not properly torqued and were loose on new builds as people don't check them during the build, but that's more a matter of younger shop employees trying to rush stuff. I'd be interested in knowing what hubs your using, I wonder if it's a manufacturing tolerances from some companies. I've used Shimano, Mavic and DT centerlock hubs with no issues myself. From a mechanics stand point, I've been on team centerlock for a long time due to quick swaps, and less builders/jr mechs stripping holes or bolts. I've drilled out far to...

The fork is a prototype with a special crown machuned by Pole for Cornelius Kapfinger aka mr Intend. Leo shared a pic in the Pole Rider group on Facebook. It is angled at the crown similar to the first X Fusion Revel HLR prototypes. Those were also USD and angled for better angle towards bigger hits. Similar to high pivots, really.

Katy Winton on her own team, Moxie XI. Sponsored by Nukeproof, sram, Troy Lee and her grandparents. Great it worked out for her, and apparently sram pulled some strings to help her out. They do get a lot of shit sometimes but cool to see that they're looking after their athletes.
