You definitely shift weight forward in corners, but keep in mind that the seat of an MX motorcycle goes all the way to the gas cap. We have the bars almost in our lap when cornering. It would be the equivalent of sitting on the top tube. We definitely need to do this in order to accelerate properly, or the power would make us wheelie uncontrollably.

Some additional thoughts that I haven't heard yet: 1. 29ers have taller front ends. Someone mentioned that as reach lengths got longer, WC pro's started lowering their handlebars. That's actually not true. It might look like pro's front ends are coming down because we see lower rise bars and fewer stem spacers, but that's because with 27.5 & 29" wheels, frame stack heights have gotten higher. A 29" front wheel and fork is 2" higher than a 26" frame and fork. That's part of the reason why a lot of companies are speccing stupid short head tubes on their 29er...

how did we go around the chicken line? we said this is a DTC brand, it's buyer and company, not buyer, shop and company. we can't speak from actual experience about warranty as "biggest issue with canyon" since we've never bought a bike from canyon and had to deal with a warranty claim. knowing the internet, for all the complaints about a brand, there are probably 50x more satisfied customers who never say how great their experience was. it would be irresponsible for us to say "warranties are a breeze" or "warranties are a hassle" since we've never been an...

New trek bike is a high pivot,idler speed machine. Rumour has it the French rider who will get to develop it needs to get some space from a certain Yorkshire chap. Trek riders have in their contracts that if they become a world champ as a trek athlete they must be offer a contract extension/new contract, Reece was super close to looking for a team.

Another advantage of the DPX2 over the Float X2 is that it is way easier to service. I looked at the Float X2 service manual when considering one, and lost interest.

For basic air can seal services I agree 100%. With the DPX2 you don't need to do a complete shock rebuild to get the sleeve off. Doing regular air can servicing increases the longevity of the shock as well. When it comes to doing a full rebuild however, I would prefer the Float X2 because that can be done in any home mechanic's garage. The DPX2 requires a nitrogen charge whereas the Float X2 can be charged with nitrogen (preferred) but also air from a common shock pump.

The one that get's me is how long some of the females have been riding. I think it's Nina.... she's been riding 3 years or something absolutely shockingly low. I've been riding 20+ and still suck lol

Ihave the Push 11.6 now for nearly a year on my Santa Cruz Megatower. I got it because there was a sale on Push (for years a dream on my wish list) and I wanted coil again. The coil added about 500gr to the bike, that's the only negative I could write. Positive sides: US made and you feel the good quality (okay as European I should have bought EXT, but I like US stuff 😉). Installation is done in 5min, setup comes for your needs. I tried some more and less clicks but the default setting was great...

I can't afford two bikes, so I bought one which I can pedal and also do 99% of what I'd ever want to do at the bike park. Could I go faster on a DH the one or two times a year that I make it to the lifts? Yes, but it's simply not worth the outlay. I would be willing to bet that there is an enormous number of people who have recently gotten into or re-entered the sport (myself included,) who are just like me. Something else to think about- if 1/2 of DH bikes are going to rental fleets- why do the renters have to deal with WC winning geometry? And much cheaper prototyping. Especially since many brands entirely outsource the engineering side of their carbon molds. I think what’s driving the switch is a cheaper end product more than prototype investment. Brands can get a pretty long run out of a reasonably designed dh frame. But I’d guess the vast majority of dh sales are rental bikes and park rat teenagers (my buddy buys new bikes for his teens but is riding a old Jedi himself.).
