Based on the Q2 times being faster and more tightly packed I'm guessing the track conditions improved significantly from Q1 to Q2, but that's still quite a heater of a run by Iles.

Is there anywhere to watch Finn's Q2 run? He put 3.5 seconds into everyone from either qualifying session.

I'm guessing Greg Minnaar is happy to see Danny Hart qualify for finals. I know I am!

The rules say that as soon as you become an elite World Cup winner you can pick a career number. I don't know if he's actually picked one by now. He was running #27 in South Korea before going on to win that race, so maybe he's decided it's a good number to stick with (he had the #1 plate in Loudenvielle, which doesn't help confirm if he has indeed picked #27).

We've already tried closed-system brakes, and they didnt last. Let's see if this one might.

Zero info on their website about these brakes ... other than the fact they are 1000€, made in Germany and supposedly powerful. Couldn't even find the pad type!

FYI, if we're talking reusing carbon frames for different travel options, you're distributing the mold cost over a larger set of samples but you can nevertheless Optimize the layup in said mold. Changing the layup is, other than the additional cost of testing, free when it comes to mold making. Hell, you could offer stiffer and softer frames for every travel option as well if you want to jump on the compliance bandwagon.

I believe part of that was due to limitations in what could be done with the thermoplastics.. But, I think they tried to cover too much of a range with the one front end..

Maybe wrong thread, but Im still worried about frame flex with models that can drastically transform their travel numbers. The GG thermo plastic frames were pretty stiff in long travel mode, and way too stiff when reused for shorter travel models.

Perhaps this stuff, although it is marketed for XC use ? https://www.technomousse.com/en/bike/blue-vertigo/ Edit: Tubolight posted above does seem more likely !

Not 100% certain, but it might be a Tubolight Diamana insert?

Agreed all across the board. The whole reason I brought it up was in the end bit you left off: "I'm not sure that this has anything to do with ebikes and people having access to more speed than their skills have prepared them for..." Which is literally the biggest complaint people have about ebike riders; the lack of skills and etiquette to make for easy coexistence with other users on trails. That creation of tension, friction, then fracture is what gets mtb access revoked.
