I think most people judge bikes before they even sort out their spring rates. "This bike pedals like crap." 40% sag. "This bike is really soft and dead feeling." No volume spacers. "This bike is really bad on steep trails." Fork too soft. "It's so harsh on rough trails." Also fork too soft.

Riders should have to pass a test on the effects of low and high speed damping before being allowed to buy a modern shock. It's crazy to me that even at some bike shops this remains a mystery. There are SO many people out there on crazy expensive bikes with complete garbage tunes.

I agree "This bike sucks" is a common note to many current super bikes because someone doesn't know how to tune their shock. Most people can barely be trusted with adjustable air/preload and low speed rebound adjustments.

I was thinking this is probably the reason they didn't even bother to do a press release. They knew the comments would just be filled with slack seat tube angle hate and they didn't want to deal with it. LOL

Marco is the first Transition-sponsored rider I've seen make a video that's not on purpose-built PNW flow-carpet. It's refreshing to see someone thrashing on rocky, dry, unimproved multi-use trails like many of us in the western US. I hate the idea that a trail isn't "fun" if it's not on perfect soil or built specifically for MTB. Well done and sick riding, sir!

Man that trail was so fun! True story- as a 16yr old jr DH shredder back in the day I helped build the course with HB & Chad Cheney. I shaped all the jumps and drops and was the guinea pig jumping everything! It was so cool to see all of the famous WC guys ride what I built and I even towed some female pros into the drops and road gap early in the week before practice started. It seems like forever ago now

Funny that you never tried Cushcore, because I think you just wrote a salespitch for them. Rim protection, sidewall support, and not shrinking or losing function over time are the main selling points of Cushcore over other tire inserts. I used to run DH tires without inserts on my trail bike, but was still folding tires and denting rims. I tried Huck Norris and it worked for a while but I experienced all the same drawbacks you described. Now I’m running DH tires and Cushcore in the rear and I’m happy as a clam. It weighs a little more, but...

Go start your company and make a bunch of money if it’s so easy. Sounds like you will take the market by storm. Overhead will be low since you can work out of your garage and with costs at only $1 and a price of $20-30 and 5 mins to make you should be clearing $2000 a day easy once these start to move.

Interesting, the aluminium has a thru-shaft shock, because the reservoir didn't fit, but the carbon has the downtube shaped in such a way to fit the reservoir and they are using the standard Super Deluxe.
