That's the first video I've seen that actually centers around the idea of dragging your handlebar in turns. Cheers for taking the contest title to heart.
Following someone that's way faster or better than you and relearning how to ride a bike in the process of trying to survive. The sound of sideknobs tearing hardpacked dirt apart is my favorite noise of all time.
That was rad. Cool to see you getting the most out of those flat pedals on your trail bike. I didn't know you lika the dirt jumps. You should come down for a Team Robot trail jam this spring. Now that you're on the Vital main page, I think you just start receiving checks in the mail. Nice work.
Alex Rankin made the best videos that mountain biking has ever seen. BTW, count how many slow mo shots there were in that race segment. Or soulful interviews. Or soulful music.
FREAKING SWEET! Thanks for another sick video Andy. PUBLIC SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENT: Mikey Sylvestri absolutely tomahawked himself into a tree on Friday. We thought had had broken his wrist. After doing 2 and a half practice runs all weekend, having his wrist taped and iced 24/7, he started his final run. His chain fell off halfway down, before the long pedalling straight at the bottom. He still beat 2nd place by 5 seconds. RETARDED. It's time to send Mikey to some world cups. Thanks DHduder, it was a sweet weekend.
Spomer said: "even though there's a top 80 practice session)" Thus totally destroying my point. If top pros don't have to practice with all the midpack guys, then it doesn't really matter. But it still sucks to be an almost good enough racer in the U.S.
Is 300 too many people? Yeah, of course it is. Sure the group gets pared down to 80 after qualifying, but that means that the 80 best riders in the world still have to get stuck behind the 300th best rider in the world during practice. Why are there so many riders at Maribor? Look at the rules. Every country...
