both the PR and PX bikes that we've had were exceptionally quiet. it seems like every motor brand has both complaints of motor noise or praises of of them being quiet. i was lucky to have the PR, a bosch and a specialized at the same time. the PR was the quietest riding the same trail back to back to back.

The Amflow and Teewing bikes look like a good value. Can you actually buy one and have it within a week? Seems like there are a lot of people waiting around for Avinox equipped bikes that were ordered and in some cases paid for a while (months) ago. Considering how fast new bikes are coming out, I would not want to wait around.

The bike was super capable and fun to ride, it's light, the motor/range/tunability/interface is great, and all the geo adjustments make it quite adaptable.

no, afaik the one specifically labelled for bosch, with the axs adapter that only works on older style battery mounts (not transmission gx or s1000), only powers the derailleur

This is what worries me. I get the technical benefits of putting a kid on an ebike, but at the same time they're going to see that you don't need to put in the effort to get to the top. Just another shortcut in life that's so popular these days. Maybe if you could limit it to a certain level and not have any assist levels, only on or off, but it will still be a pain when they go to a regular bike. Which they will have to if they want to race for example. IMO it's too much...

I agree- I'm also front range CO. Have been less impressed with the HR3 than others seem to be. Assegai is still king for me.

Maxxterra / new DH casing soon to come for the DHX. MaxxTerra has had a major durability upgrade earlier this without impacting grip compared to the previous version. Glad you like the tires!

The last time I posted in this thread I glazed the Kryptotals pretty hard for their long life, but I've been sucked back into Maxxis world by the DHX. Initial thoughts on DHX after two days in the park Maxxgrip rubber has confidence inspiring grip on rock slabs. I don't think I have ever been able to go so slow down renegade or captain safety as I did on these tires. For those who don’t want to watch, specialized found radials faster on trails due to the conformation of the tire. Roads are worse with radials. My non science based opinion agrees. If someone watches it fully does spec plan to release lighter radials? That’d be dope.

In this video there's a discussion on how Spesh has been trying thread patterns with different angles in order to optimise radial and lateral stiffness. About 8 min in they are discussing how rolling resistance depend on surface and how that translates when it come to these so called radial casing tires.

Raleigh going under as part of this is a real kick in the teeth. It’s a big part of British industrial and cycling history, it was once the biggest bike company in the world with a huge footprint in Nottingham. Growing up everyone wanted a Raleigh bike for Christmas. I do hope they can find someone to take it on, the name holds real cultural significance.
