7/26/2021 2:07pm You really don't know what you are talking about and I really have no interest in going around and around on this topic with you. The fact is that Pivot and some others are correct when they say that they don't need as steep as a static STA to equal others dynamic STA because their suspension does in fact ride...

7/26/2021 7:19am You are quite incorrect. When you ride a bike down a trail, pedaling, during undulations/ roots/ bumps, the suspension moves in the the 20% - 60% travel range. It does not sit at 30% sag exactly the entire time. If you don't believe me reset your travel indicator and pedal down any trail and then notice that your o-ring will...

7/23/2021 11:48am DW definitely averages a higher overall ride height when pedaling (even when sag is set the same) than Horst Link for instance, so I don't think it's BS at all. You shouldn't need quite as much STA steepness out of a DW link bike as well as a few others for it to feel the same when pedaling your favorite...

7/21/2021 8:32am I was a track marshal on this exact section for the 2019 DH WC race and in qualifying, when it rained I had to witness many people crash, broken wrists, clavicles and so on. I’m glad they reworked it for this years Champs because it really sucked to see so many guys go down. To have a technical track is one thing but to have a dangerous one is another one and the line is very thin.

7/21/2021 8:28am I was on a full 27.5 V3 Bronson last season, then a GG Smash full 29 this season, and now just picked up a Bronson MX. Tubes - You can actually use a 27.5 tube just fine in a 29 wheel (and vice versa actually), so you really only need one size of spare tube. 27.5 V3 Bronson - handling on that bike was telepathic for me, although it could be a handful when things got hectic in natural terrain, and I wanted a bit more reach. 29 - I have shortish legs, and rear wheel interactions caused some crashes...

7/19/2021 11:28am Most Spesh bikes on Horst link, while great at following the ground pedaled pretty poorly. The Epic (their XC dually) needed the 'brain' to pedal well. The '20 E29 does have very high AS and the SJ Evo '21 has pretty high AS (not as high as the E29). So I'd say your assessment is accurate.

7/16/2021 1:49pm My 9 year old girl is tall and fits very well on a Trailcraft Maxwell 26". Think it weighs about 25#s flat ready to ride currently. She can really fly on that bike too. On a XC loop I'd put her up against any casual adult trail rider.

7/16/2021 1:18pm I compare electrics with real mtbs. I get it, comparing it with an mx, it is probably more agile, a lot more, considering the weight diff but, comparing it with a real mtb, 12-14 kgs lighter, it is an effin pig. It has more inertia and, generally, it is slow to manoeuvre. and yes, 30 mph!, only at (around that)speed it came alive. Most of the real mtbs are and feel good even at 10-15 mph; this electric did not feel like that.. in any way. I am talking about downhill speed as the whole purpose of the electric is...

7/16/2021 1:17pm Yeah?? Well, looks like your realm had 7 places to ride! I only have 2, and one of them has around 12 trails that were build by hand ( yes, you’ve read it right, by hand) by me and 20 more guys! You know how many fgk hours that is?? We could be with our families or, here’s a stupid idea: we could be riding our bikes, but no we were building berms and doubles and drops! So, here comes dozens of cool ebikers having tons of fun, and taking the steepest lines with rear wheels locked because that’s fun...

7/14/2021 9:02am colors are easy to change even as a running change for production. build specs (especially during covid times) are contingent upon what's being sold by the suppliers (shimano, sram, etc), which is planned quite a bit in advance (i've heard a year plus). the bulk of many component sales are driven by OEM, and the manufacturing qtys are largely driven by OEM demand.

7/14/2021 8:57am Oh, the money isn't an issue for me. If they were legal on TX public land, I'd own a high end e-bike. But they are specifically classified as motorcycles here and TX law clarifies this and goes on to state that if motorized vehicles are not allowed, then e-bikes are not allowed either on any public land. The fact that...

7/14/2021 3:45am I just can't understand the need for an e-bike on flat, bi-directional terrain. On flat terrain I can pedal as fast as I can go through the turns without sliding off the trail. A lightweight fast rolling bike is the key. It's also more fun and safer for other trail users. Rode in CO last year and not all of...

7/12/2021 1:37pm Well now… Needz moar duct tape. Is that a garden hose chain guide in the swingarm? I’ve always wondered what kind of benefit a screen door spring would have on my mid speed rebound damping... Honestly impressed with the lack of zip ties and bubblegum.
