Of all the options out there, I think signing with Trek would maybe be the least surprising. And the possibility is huge for some massive, crazy projects with backing from both Red Bull and Trek. Also, imagine what kind of insane, viking/black metal themed paint jobs he'll get on his bikes from the Trek custom paint shop. I don't love Trek, but am here for Brage getting paid and opportunities that only come from big sponsors.

Hi, long time WC media guy here (14 years long).. I'm also very curious to hear some names and facts about this from you But in the meantime let me share some of my own. Each team is allowed to register photographers and videographers (each team then receives a set number of photo and video bibs for the season). if someone doesnt work for a team they can register as independent media once they have letters of assignment from a verified media outlet. there are little to no restrictions as to what can be shot/posted. Trek and QBP just had layoffs (again) today. This is the third time at Trek in the last 18 months and I believe at least the second time at QBP since COVID. I just exited the bike industry myself (started a new job this week!), it’s definitely rough out there!

I think the other racers could learn a thing or two from Aaron with how he conducts himself. this interview is a prime example of a professional athlete getting the news out about new deals, and letting us in behind the scenes so to speak of how these deals come together and how it can work in a race season. Kudos to Aaron, Frameworks team and Vital for providing this. Good luck on the season ahead!

His contributions to the B-Practice podcast are probably a big reason that Vital favors him (Just like people here love Jesse M. because he actually posts in the forum periodically). It makes them feel like they're "one of your own." Shocking... do good PR things that expand your audience and let people get to know you... and you increase your fan base and marketability. Personally, I'm not American, so that doesn't play into it at all. Winning doesn't make you likeable. Dak presents as a nice guy and people like that. Having a bit of a unique set up could also play into it, but I think it's mostly just the nice guy thing. People also love an underdog and a comeback story, so everyone's been cheering him on as he's steadily improving after his injuries last year.

When Jack's post said that after 14 years, he wanted time to do things he wants to do.. Even if there was an offer on the table with someone, that doesn't mean he has to take it. There comes a point where one's mental health becomes the priority. He even mentioned that he had previously considered retirement.. Jacks announcement took a few of us by surprise last night. It's sad that one of the best riders in the world, arguably the most charismatic too is unable to secure a ride for next year and in some ways, coerced into retirement. I hope he finds a role somewhere, he would be a fantastic "face" of a company. The content would be top level.
