5/8/2025 9:28am I spent months of frustration and probably lost years off my life, trying to sort out my tubeless setup. I taped and re-taped my rims, tried all sorts of different settings on my air compressor, and swapped out the cheap cone-shaped tubeless valves several times. Could not get the tire to inflate. As it turned out, all I needed was better valves with the flat rubber block on the backside, instead of the cone. Instant fix and I'll never go back to the cheapos. It's a dumb problem to have over $12.

5/8/2025 9:28am I spent more time than I would like to admit trying to fix my shifting. It would shift fine for some of the cassette but some gears I couldn't get to work right no matter how i adjusted. i even replaced a derailleur hanger. Turns out i routed the cable of my shimano derailleur backwards.

5/8/2025 9:27am I had gotten a Kids Ride Shotgun kit to use for taking my daughter around. She loves it. After installing, I just could not get this weird clunking to go away from the stem. I had the right number of spacers, and when riding it felt perfectly fine. Only when rolling off curbs and picking the bike up did this clunk happen. I rode a few times without thinking too much about it. Well, slowly inspecting it, I realized that I had installed the thing while the bike was on the ground, having just needed to take the stem off...

5/6/2025 5:09pm From the other site... 438mm + 17.5mm at sag (although the sag % wasn't mentioned). Max rear center growth of 23.5mm. So you're effectively getting a 455mm rear center. Pretty much spot on these days.

5/6/2025 3:11pm Fw was just using it to test different AR values to possibly incorporate into future designs. Look at that image as a testing rig, not a prototype

5/6/2025 12:36pm Share your dumb bike problems. “I can’t believe how many fixes I tried before realizing my front wheel was loose” or the like. My most recent: gnarly knocking noise coming from bike. Sounded like I was bottoming out super hard. Was stressing about my shock, then check all my bolts thinking it sounded a bit like a loose yoke bolt...

5/6/2025 12:03pm We’re not allowed to call them chainstays anymore . We must refer to them as (part of) the rear centre… or face forum judgement.

5/6/2025 8:05am Are there any elite riders / coaches / engineers lurking here who can explain current or changing schools of thought on optimal body positioning? Do you start with body position & balance, then build/adapt the bike from there? I remember Minnaar talking about trying to adapt to the more upright modern position you see from riders like Jackson, Asa, Loris, etc but at a certain point over-elongated wheelbases and additional drag might prevent setups from scaling accordingly for large riders (ex Coulanges/Kolb are more hunched-over). I'm imagining that many many riders (including myself) are very poorly fit into our cockpits...

5/1/2025 11:34am Maybe a little bit, but him not being very tall is good for highlighting my point, and that him liking longer stays on some bikes while feeling a bit off on others is also great to show that it isn't the end all be all fix that a lot of people online make it out to be. When I started the thread, it was in response to long chainstay talk, but I did want it to be about geo in general, what we like and don't like, how we experiment with it and how it's going, and general complaining about...

5/1/2025 8:24am Dang. Spot on. I will check out the interview. I didn’t connect the dots but my geo journey started when I switched to flats and adapted my bike to my new riding position/style.
