To his credit, Clay Harper (or is it Porter) says every year he wants to keep the track something that everyone can race on. Amateurs and pros. But man, it would be so much better to see the pros race on a course that challenges them a bit more. Every year you hear the pros talk about how flat the...

I'm stuck at work on Christmas Eve, so here are some random thoughts that aren't impossible. Some I like, some I hate: Scott - I have no interest in every owning a Scott bike and not sure if it's the right fit, but the everyone seems to love the Gambler and their freeride team is kind of killing it. Brendog, Vinny T, Vaea (remember her Rampage bike?!?) and a bunch of others. Cool collab opportunities. Specialized - out of principle, I kind of hate the Big S, but it would probably get Brage the biggest paycheck and most opportunity for...

That mean we are losing the shoes too?! I’m running out of options for DH flats with crazy good grip. Still in tears about Sam Hills. Finally got through the emotions and tried 2FO DH and was pleasantly surprised and stoked. Don’t take those from me too!! Seriously… idk what I’ll do

Shit. I could’ve sworn Killington had secured the Open for a few more years. I wonder if it being under new ownership had anything to do with it.

Awesome for Nukeproof to get started with a team that can help them hit the ground running, who were all climbing the ranks through last season. I do really think it would be amazing for Hill to show up at hardline on a Nukeproof DH bike.

This is one of the features for the Korea track exiting the woods. I believe it's roughly 2/3 of the way down. The landings are going to be built in late-March, early April. They said about 70% of the course is done, with the remaining elements going on the open slopes. Not much intel on the XC course other than it being over by the bike park but apparently, not using any of the existing trails. They're going to shut down the slopes that run across the course early to get as much time as possible to build. FYI, Vital...

The racing has been phenomenal, I will say that. They cranked up the urgency to near-desperation levels…not sure how it’s sustainable but in the short term, World Cup DH is bananas.

Oh Spomer... those contracts were with the old YT company run by old YT CEO Markus. New YT company CEO Markus has no idea what you're talking about.

Hi, Not to keep beating the dead and reanimated horse of YT but I found this interesting. So, you all might find it interesting. When the news broke of YT USA selling all their inventory to Jenson I was very curious. Who doesn’t love a great deal? Through the magic of questionable data sources and unverified LLM code generation I did some analysis of what was for sale. I heard on the internet they had something like 600+ bikes come in from the distributor? Preamble: I have no relationship with Jenson, YT, YT USA or the bike industry as a...

If true hope he can get the bike to work, given Benoit has definitely had a challenge coming off the supreme V5 (not the only one, apparently Camille Balanche worked a lot with Yeti to bring the dh proto up to the V5's level). The Mondraker proto seems to have really complemented his strengths.

I get the desire to move on from this story, but it deserves the attention it is getting. Here is why: First, there is not much else happening in the space. The Felt news is interesting, and I reached out to Cesar and may do something there later. He is a great guy. Outside of that, the only real story right now, in my view, is the health of the consumer, which everytime I bring up in conversation i get glazed eyeballs (lol...its riveting!). When you compare that to the personality of Markus, the very public way he is handling...

@Downtime Podcast Been busy and have sporadically been able to follow the thread. I haven’t listened to the DT podcast. Haven’t listened to Brines debrief. But I do know this. MF asked/paid Chris to provide a platform. Chris did that. Jumping on Chris for not asking the right questions is crap. MF was on the back foot from the company crisis. Chris didn’t put him there. MF had every opportunity to at least clear the air and admit wrongdoing. At any point during the pod MF could have said “Let me say this about that”. MF had an open mic...

To me, it seemed like MF('r) genuinely didn't understand the insolvency process or side of business at all leading up to YT falling into it. He straight up admitted it in the pod. TBF I don't either but it seems like until mid '25 there was an assumption that they could just keep "powering through, business as usual" until it was way too late and the house of cards fell. Sweet management chops. He addresses the insolvency like it was an unforeseeable natural disaster rather than gradual foreseeable mismanagement by the company itself. "How could this happen to ME?!" type...
