I like to climb everything rather than push up so I am one of the few that cleans the ebike climbs hehe. Yeah very steep stuff around here.

If they have two motors I think the primary motor is connected to the crankshaft to double up on the power input then there's the second motor for the planetary drive to handle the gear ratios. Otherwise it doesn't compute to me if it has two motors. And I don't think it would fly having only one motor and having said motor plus the crank as inputs to the planetary and the chainring as the output. I don't think you'd get the power outputs and gear ranges we are seeing that way...

What you are describing in regards to Also is a series hybrid like what the... Bolt from Chevy is. Or a diesel electric locomotive. Neither of which is the same as a Prius which is still a parallel hybrid.

I've had my belt come of a few times in 2 years of general riding without "extreme" mud conditions. All were due to sticks kicking up and lodging between the belt and rear cog. I can see how a bunch of thick mud can buildup from coasting downhill and derail it. I honestly think that if the Gates sponsorships weren't happening the gearbox bikes would be chain drive, or switch over to chain drive when the going gets muddy. The belt is very quiet and smooth in non-extreme conditions but no denying the chain is a better option for ultra...

There's a lot of terrain out there where the chainrings aren't small enough and 2 teeth less is not enough to cover the missing 50+T dinner plate though... I've got a buddy that does a lot of riding and a little racing on a 2019 Blur, and he's coming up on 18k miles on an XX1 DR on that bike. Still works great. I'm kind of wondering if my Eagle DR collection might outlive me. If not, I'll take Madrone over T-Type.

Honestly, the lack of "fudgeability" by using the limits + b tension screws to deal with any cable/housing related issues puts a hell of a lot of pressure on the tension adjuster on the sram 90 shifter and its just... not up to the task. I think I'd be singing a different tune if it felt as nice to deal with (and worked as well) as the XO and XX1 stuff did in the previous generation.
