Oregon isn't really representative of the riding on the West Coast when people talk about needing bigger bikes out here. Oregon is known for being smooth and flowy. BC and Washington are classic west coast in my books.

@Fazua The latest updates allow boost to be activated with the button on the new controller or if using the old ring controller in mtb mode, to push the ring to the right. Can we get an update that would allow us to turn boost off once pedaled? Currently, once boost is engaged while pedaling you have to let it run the full time. It would be nice to be able to turn it off if the hill is let's say only 7 seconds instead of having to let it run for the full time. Otherwise, the latest updates really...

1) We take this feedback seriously. We recommend using the free FAZUA app or third-party devices, such as Garmin, to show the percentage of charge remaining. 2) In general, regulations require bike and drive-system manufacturers to provide spare parts for a certain period, even after components have been discontinued. This helps ensure that the purchased product remains fully usable. 3) We work with certified and legally mandated service providers to ensure full compliance with all regulations and guarantee the safe, responsible recycling of degraded batteries.

We continuously refine and advance every component of our system to deliver the highest possible performance. Our current design achieves top-tier efficiency in this segment. The 90° angle does not significantly impact efficiency, indeed our motor operates at a much higher level than comparable solutions.

We share the same ambition for faster charging and closely monitor every development in this field. At present, battery technology requires us to prioritize durability over ultra-fast charging.

There are some flow jumpy trails out here for sure, but lots of very long chunky rock stuff. Big mountains with high speeds. Most of the US is flat in comparison. I rode Kanuga, rock creek, Bentonville, TX, Oregon and SanDiego this month. SanDiego is by far the chunkier. Of course any where you go you can ride whatever, but...

I think like most things this very much depends on where and what you ride. Here in Vancouver almost everyone I know is on a 160-180mm enduro bike. Our trails have a lot of big roots and big compressions so we’re using every bit of travel we can get. Even if you primarily shuttle to the top you’ll likely be pedalling at some point so you rarely see downhill bikes at Seymour.

Question for Fazua: can you give us any more info on your future plans that would increase confidence in current Ride60 owners? I recently picked up a Heckler SL with a Ride60 motor. I love the ride quality of the motor and the lower weight of the package because I enjoy pedaling to the top, I just want some extra support to do longer rides. The Ride60 supplies totally adequate power, so I don't understand why people would want or need a full-power ebike. Can currently happily get 3-4,000 feet of climbing in out of a 3 hour ride. I...

Thanks to those who've taken time to write kind words about Downtime. I was expecting to get some hate for this episode as there is definitely a lot of frustration out there on this topic and Markus appears to be a very polarising character. For what it's worth, I put in the time to understand the concerns of the MTB world as much as was possible from forums etc and I believe that all those key points were covered in this interview. I also took time to understand the mechanisms of Private Equity and just why growth is essential and...

Thanks for the math award. I don’t even practice so it’s double nice. We are also very handsome here on the messageboards. That bike is super dumb looking.

Maybe not a concern for most people . But I’ll say if you travel, say with a sprinter van etc and have bikes on a rack. You better have a removable battery if you plan on being in the mountains when it’s cold. That freezing weather will ruin your battery, been there. Plus it’s hard to recharge a battery outside...

Hi everyone, I’m Daniel. I’m responsible for product management at TQ and have been with the company for about eight years. My background is in mechanical engineering, so even though I’m not in a pure engineering role anymore, the technical side of things still interests me a lot. I’m also a passionate e-mountainbiker, so these topics are genuinely close to me. I’m happy to see all the comments here — feel free to send any feedback, questions, or criticism our way.

Good info. Schooled me on my thoughts that SS batteries were just around the corner. If they are, they are all keeping it close to the vest. Regarding Fazua, I worked with a QBT (is that the wholesale bicycle parts retailer?) Rep to update my remote, recently and asked him this very question if he thought Fazua was pulling out. He basically said based on his recent training and other info, that he's received, not even close. He also pointed out that Porsche has a long history of providing long term support, even for outdated products such as very old...

Glad to see FAZUA sent a reply, considering forum members here seem to be forecasting their imminent demise. I (reluctantly) picked up a steeply discounted FAZUA Ride 60 powered gravel bike for commuting and have found it to have more than adequate power for that application (can comfortably sit at 28mph when in the drops). For my mountain bikes, it’s full power all the way.

TQ What defines an e-MTB, specifically with regards to rider interaction and power delivery? What is your overreaching goal when you develop an e-MTB motor/battery system? For us, an e-MTB is defined by the perfect balance between rider and machine. The motor should enhance the rider’s own power in a natural, intuitive way rather than dominate it. That means smooth power delivery, precise control, and seamless integration with the bike’s handling and character. Our overarching goal when developing an e-MTB motor and battery system is to preserve the authentic mountain bike experience — just with the right amount of intelligent...

FAZUA What defines an e-MTB, specifically with regards to rider interaction and power delivery? What is your overarching goal when you develop an e-MTB motor/battery system? An e-MTB from the FAZUA perspective is defined by the interaction between rider and motor — by how naturally the system responds to human input and how intuitively it delivers power. At FAZUA, we believe that true performance is not about adding more watts, but about creating a seamless connection between rider and machine. Our goal when developing an e-MTB drive system is to engineer a lightweight, compact, and fully integrated unit that enhances...

Bunch of interesting stuff with this ordeal. Only thing I liked about YT was the San Clemente mill events the employees and the free beer. Bikes didn’t excite me. My opinion they are doing away with the best part of YT
