I love my Santa Cruz Bullit ebike, but under California law, specialized is now making mopeds, not ebikes. I agree with Hans. It's disappoint to see Specialized disregard existing ebike laws and try to compete with DJI for the highest power boomer scooter. 750w is a reasonable limit for ebikes. Let's let ebike be ebikes, not mopeds or emotos.

Gotta say, while not a huge specialized fan, there was a while there where i had to be like, don’t love em, but no denying they are doing good shit, but i think the stumpy and all their recent e-bikes have really missed the mark. I’m sure the new demo will be good, but that was developed back when all the good shit was being developed. Wonder if there were big changes over there, or they just missed.

super interesting to see that even though they kind of acknowledge that a super refined high-tech DH transmission is semi-pointless. They are clear that Dh is the pinnacle of gravity, so the pinnacle of their marketing efforts and it's also a big flex, 'cos they CAN build and sell this drivetrain. Unlike their competitors they have the money/tech/want to make it happen. Interesting.

It’s cool how we can want or need different things from a powered MTB. And that options are out there. If 50+ pound Mtbs were all there was I wouldn’t be interested in an E Mtb.

True. But seriously so much power and it’s not even cycling anymore. I mean climbing isn’t climbing it’s just going up hill. And 55lb going down hill is just not the same. I hope, and I see some company’s are figuring it out. I already have a moto bike.
I disagree. But I ride trails where a long travel, slack, light, active suspension bike works best. Not many E bikes available that fit that. I love love love my transition Relay, and the Fazua 60. I’ve tested all the e bikes besides trek and specialized or Crestline. Not interested in any of those. The Fazua motor is the best...

Whatever power it takes to boost over shit that nobody else is even thinking about, Jackson Goldstone has it.

Jackson has more competition, that's for sure. Asa and the Alrans ("triple As"?Smile are bringing talent that the elites have only ever really seen one rider at a time (sorry Jordan). Sam Hill. Aaron Gwin. Loic . Amaurry. Jackson. All of those riders really shook things up for the field. But, as always, adjustments will be made. The guys who can, will up their game. But you're smoking crack if you think that anyone is going to mop the floor with Jackson.

I respectfully disagree. I'm fastest with tires that let loose exactly at the same moment. The next best is the rear breaking loose first. The worst combo, which is basically the standard on L/ XL modern short chainstay enduro 29ers, is then the front lets go first, often way sooner than the rear. There was a time when bikes were really short reach and the exact same tire front and back worked quite well. That doesn't work anymore and all bikes that I've ridden for years do much better with a higher traction tire up front. One of the best...

I think it’s still just 50 a run?. I’m sure the Asia frames are incredible (I owned a raw Yalla) I still love that I have a FW welded by Frank the welder. OG FW

DragonSpeed is doing sportscar/endurance racing since about 15 years. 24 Hours of Mans (1 class win), 24 Hours of Daytona (3 class wins) and other major races (+ 3 participations at Indy 500). European Champion in Prototype, doint World Endurance Championship, last year runner-up in GT Pro (USA) with a Ferrari, this year with a new Corvette Z06 GT3.R. Why MTB DH. The team principal (former pro driver) and myself, we are passionnate about MTB DH first (I did at low level when I was younger). Then, of course, all the technical aspects - suspension, brakes, tires... - and all...

No downvoting from me. Everyone has different taste and there's nothing wrong with that! Brage - that's fair. I think he's the right balance between lots of prep, insane riding skill and willingness to send it. I think he's far more calculating than it looks like in his riding. I think Gee is kinda similar, but I legitimately think that man needs some therapy to work out that death wish he seems to have. Lol Tippie - can't get on board with your take. By every single person who's spent time interacting with him, living near him, riding with him...

I have an Orbea Wild with the Bosch Gen 5 motor. Pretty impressed with it even with “only” a 600wh battery. I can get 5200’ of climbing with almost all of that climbing in tour+ at the default settings. Lots of room for tunability in the app too. I find the + modes to deliver power in a more natural way than the non + modes. For DH I run it in the highest power mode which is emtb+ goosed up to 100nm and the sliders all maxed out. The amount of power in emtb+ is ridiculous. The E bike...

This bike is 18.1kg in a size L. The HPR60 is only 800g heavier so it would still be sub 20kg with the HPR60 (if sticking with the 290wh battery). It would probably still be sub 20kg with the 360wh battery too. To me for the sake of 800g it would have made more sense to spec the HPR60.
