Kind of crossing into the Bikeconomics thread, but what is "exciting" doesn't necessarily translate into sales and its sales the industry needs right now. RAAW, as mentioned, are making some awesome, solid, reliable bikes, but I bet they aren't selling crazy numbers. Likewise Frameworks, Actofive, Forbidden etc. I admire and get hyped by what all those brands are doing right now, but would I buy one? Maybe not. As the guys alluded to in the podcast, the industry is definitely turning into a barbell kind of scenario. The most exciting bike for me at the moment in the shop I...

Definate drag, like the decoy I tried a little while back. You can feel it just pedaling around the parking lot with the power off. It’s also much louder than the TQ or Fazua. Maybe the Bosch didn’t have the most current update? But man does have lots of power the way I rode it. Honestly more than I need...

There are so many fast racers you could sponsor. There is only ONE Tippie in the whole word

V+R Racing is just two mere peasants (well, a nurse and a medical device engineer). When we started out in 2019 the two of us were just buying DH bikes for junior riders who needed them. Many seasons and many riders later, we had two world cup DH juniors in '25 with one finishing second overall and the other finishing 10th overall. We obviously can't afford our own team, but we can still be a hat/helmet sponsor. I'm still driving my 16 year old car - it just comes down to priorities for us. And we're proof it doesn't have...

Keep in mind that’s revenue for all Maxxis products and we make waaaaaay more than just bike tires. In the grand scheme of things, bike makes up a small part of that revenue. Believe me, I’m always trying to get my hands on some of that auto marketing budget!

Bike testing for my relay replacement continues. Spent today on a Pivot shuttle AM. Bosch cx-r. It’s been a minute since I’ve ridden a bike with this much power. No wonder guys have range anxiety on bikes like this. It makes climbing so easy you can just go all day. I was supposed to ride the Yeti again today but...

Their enduro team was done last year but they graciously kept me on board for this year with my contract having another year on it. Sounds obvious of course, but the bike industry isn't always so giving. The DH team took me in and I had a blast all year long, which was the main reason for doing DH at the end of the year. I just wanted to hang out with the team some more, and who wouldn't take the chance to race World Cup DH while they can. As for next year, stay tuned.

It takes a much higher cadence to get the same amount of power that the fazua makes. My seat of the pants feeling. I didn’t dislike the TQ system at all. Very refined and quiet. Just not much of an improvement (or any) over the Fazua

But I better say the ride 60 in my relay hasn’t been perfect. That’s for sure, but when it’s working it’s pretty awesome and puts a smile on my face. Light weight slack long travel E bikes (relay PNW) are my jam. Dying breed of bikes unfortunately

I’ve recently demoed the SL Orbea with the Bosch system, and today the new Yeti with the TQ system. I’ll take my Relay any day over either of them. I really hope Fazua keeps developing, but I’m worried lol

Tried to get any Fazua parts lately? I have. I hear thru the grapevine fazua won’t be around much longer. I like their motor so I’m a little bummed about what I’ve heard.

Hey Nukeproof: seems like there’s a pretty good distributor and marketing infrastructure set up in the US if you’re looking to move into that market. Give Jeff Taylor a call. Now opening Bentonville and San Clemente locations: the Nukeproof Bunker.

The harness and connectors on my transition relay seem to be the weakest part of the system They need to be more robust for a Mtb that gets used hard, probably the same with the YT stuff. Probably work great on a commuter bike tho
