Live that guy. He has very few problems with designing a prototype and testing it. His main holdup is the added complexity of getting a sellable batch made. It's why he's stuck with small CNC machining. Also saw his Psalm 150 on display at the EXT tent at sea otter. It's a little bit of aluminum art.

Oh not everyone needs to drive an hour to ride...just that due to the size of this place driving an hour is the norm for lots of stuff. I roll out my garage and it's 5 minutes of riding urbran paths and I am at base of Fromme. Or 15 minutes gets me to the western side of Seymour. Having two of the three North Shore mountains a small pedal away is pretty sweet and I can't really fathom where I'd think of moving to that has it any better.

Lots of nice comments about Rockys; I certainly appreciate it. I have faith that something will transpire over the next few months and Rocky will emerge on the other side a better company. The brand is very strong and there are many passionate but also smart people that want to see it carry on. In the meantime I'll be skiing and biking for the remainder of the winter.

I ride a Rocky Mountain e-bike and it has done two things to me: 1. bring my joy for riding back 2. make me buy another Rocky Mountain, a Slayer, which I also love Regarding point number one, it is my far the best e-bike I have ever ridden and it isn't about the fact that it has that extra torque, but how the power is delivered, how balanced it feels, how the motor is integrated in the frame, how you benefit from that weight that is positioned lower, how well the suspension works, how good the geometry feels etc...

Curious why you needed a bullet tool to put the air cartridge back together. Did you remove the piston from the shaft? My negative spacer had a split and removing it was super easy. Agreed with both of you that the fork does run deeper in it's travel without the negative spacer. I had to increase my air pressures about 15-20 PSI in both chambers to get a similar feel but felt bottom outs during heavy compressions on steeps. My fork is so plush that the difference with or without the spacer is super minimal. This winter I plan on...

Really curious to see how NST MTB pans out. I've been a huge fan of Natty Select the past few years, mostly due to the head-to-head format and raw terrain. I guess with how precise slopestyle has become, and how gnarly and set-in-place lines have become at Rampage, this type of event leaves a bit more room for riders to send big tricks and get loose (unlike slope) without the entire focus being around one drop like many runs have became at rampage.

It takes over 2 years to bring a frame to market. That's with perfect timing that leaves little buffer for setbacks. Of course you can take short cuts and do it quicker, say 18 months but that's skipping out on critical areas of the development phase. Ideally the industry moves to a 4 year cycle to slow down the pace of things. The race to first and shortening timeliness is one of the reasons why the bike industry is in the place that it is today.

On my current build I have used a set of plates to tie the bb/main pivot/shock mount all together with the downtube. So far it has worked well. The plates are probably a touch on the thin side, I had Send Cut Send do them and they have limited options in 4130.

Finally rode this thing… feels close enough to a DH bike, still pedalable although pretty miserable. I lowered the bars about 10mm after riding so well see how that goes next time. 41.6 lbs with tools, no water bottle… Exo+ front and DD rear, so it’ll gain another pound with proper DH tires in summer. Full 200mm boxxer- didn’t feel terribly mid-matched to the rear(165mm), also interesting the 200 boxxer is only 5-10mm taller than a 180 zeb. Overall pretty happy- will be perfect at the bike park and can still pedal occasionally.
