I really love these projects, especially because they always prove that "retro" colourways still look great on modern frames. Every time, they make me check what the current colourways are because surely I just don't remember how good the modern colours are and no every time the retro colourway wins. Oh and RM should build that alloy Pipedream bike with the linkage plates.

I don't want to devolve this into a ebike battery thread... (but I can't resist) I burned through ~85% of an 800w battery on the gen 5 motor in around 2 hours. Granted it was a little cold outside and I weigh ~180lbs. But 5k climbing isn't that much for a weekend ride when you've got a motor. I'm sure the Vala is a great bike and you can use a range extender. But I think a lot of consumers are scratching their head with the forced 600wh move. I'm betting a lot of people will appreciate an 840wh battery...

don’t know what they thought with that color. I’m usually in the boat that colors are either nice, eh or boring, but not actively ugly. The brown and pink combo unfortunately is the latter in my opinion. At least bicyclepubes is probably gonna be happy about the poopcycle.

Wonder where all that extra weight actually is... My size L Altitude Powerplay with 720Wh battery, coil shock, DH tires, Cushcore Pro comes to ~24kg so that is one hell of difference in weight for a pretty similar bike. Is it really all in the frame? The battery and motor can't be that different in weight?

I don’t get paid by Norco or anything, but I feel like they have the dropper post sizing pretty dialed. Here’s a screen cap from the specs of a 2025 Sight;

The real question is “why do bike companies spec such short dropper posts on their bikes?” Give the people all the drop that’s possible. Any bike that comes with less than 210mm drop needs to be upgraded. Obviously, if it’s a light weight XC bike, it may not be necessary. But once a bike hits the trail or all mountain category it should come with lots of dropper travel.

Man that race kicked ass. Turned it on last night just thinking it’d be ‘something to watch’ and holy shit, that track and the racing was unreal. The motorway bit too after the drop was proper. I typically yawn at jump sections in races but this one was raw and loose. Great job Crankworks and track builders. Gave the racers something to really get after.

I WORK for DT Swiss so this is a shameless plug. No astroturfing here... We launched new dirt jump wheels today. First time we have used brass nipples in a system wheel. We are also offering the hubs separately. D 1900 CLASSIC - Dirt Jump wheels | DT Swiss
