I heard it's increasing to 40 for the men.

The fastest juniors can qualify elites and the rest aren’t Chris ball’s problem in his mind. Hopefully they at least will expand the elites field for men and women’s.

They were scheduling juniors for TV slots? It was already an afterthought. But seriously, this is bad unless they have legitimate plans to support feeder systems. Where do talented kids get to prove themselves and experience racing like what it will be at the big show?

fwiw, adam (the "money guy backer") was at the venue every day moving lumber, signs, cords, spray paint, dirt, tools, boxes etc. he was covered in dirt like all the crew, in addition to hosting riders for meals and gatherings at his home. he was anything but hands-off.

We also don't have any idea whether or not that's all Yeti is contributing. Just because they made that public doesn't mean that's the extent of it. Same with Monster. Everyone is demanding to know how they're helping out. Red Bull doesn't post how much they spend on athlete injury expenses/rehab/etc when someone like Jackson or Finn or Gee or Emil gets injured, but obviously they continue helping out. Why is everyone automatically assuming Monster doesn't do the same?

as an engineer I appreciate the continual iterative design iteration and innovation. as an internet cynic I wonder how long until he releases an actual rube goldberg device

I'm a little late for this to be news, but I'll post anyway. After 2.5 years of use I had an issue with the Code RSC brakes. It's going to need a new lever body, I'll replace it and throw them on my spare bike. I installed the set of Hayes Dominion A4s that I had been planning to install...

I've been happy with Rudy project glasses. I basically use the photo chromic racing red or clear lenses depending on conditions. I clean my riding glasses with Carpro Clarify Phobic, it's a good glass cleaner that adds a hydrophobic coating so stuff doesn't stick to the lenses as much.
TLDR: More air or adding tokens is a work around for suboptimal support from the damper. When I put a tuned damper on the 150mm factory 36 on my trail bike I ended up 10psi lower (dropped to 78 from 88psi) as a final setting. Average travel used is the same, support is better, and small bump performance is improved...

Great question. I think that most stock forks have an underdamped compression shim stack for aggressive riders, so those reviewers are likely trying to get more support out of the fork in high shaft speed scenarios, and the only option (without a re-tune) is to add more air pressure, or tokens, or both. Cranking the compression knobs on a fork with too light of a compression tune at the shimstack essentially makes for a digressive fork tune- it gives you high damping force on LSC, high damping force on mid-speed (which is the shaft speed that an average HSC knob...

The issue with a lot of stock dampers is that not only do they not offer a lot of support from compression damping, but they also get harsh quickly when the adjusters are closed to increase damping. For example the Grip2 chokes and gets peaky/ harsh when LSC is closed, so that limits the amount of damping range is usable...
Pretty much yes - forks for a long time typically have very little compression damping, i guess to be conservative so its harder to screw up. But things like friction and sub optimal spring curves mean adding damping feels worse so people back it out. That makes people think comprrssion damping is bad but really the root cause is somewhere else The vorsprung telum manual has some great lines about the adjustment range of most stock gear

V+R Racing is just two mere peasants (well, a nurse and a medical device engineer). When we started out in 2019 the two of us were just buying DH bikes for junior riders who needed them. Many seasons and many riders later, we had two world cup DH juniors in '25 with one finishing second overall and the other finishing 10th overall. We obviously can't afford our own team, but we can still be a hat/helmet sponsor. I'm still driving my 16 year old car - it just comes down to priorities for us. And we're proof it doesn't have...

RE: air only - Total Air Cartridges were a thing for Judy's and the like BITD. Air spring/damper combo to replace the elastomers and failure prone oil cartridge with a failure prone all air setup. MRP owns the IP now I believe.

I can't be the only one thinking 6 bikes between 2 people isn't that many bikes? 1XC, 1 Enduro, 1DH, X2 people seems pretty well rounded. Maybe swap a longer travel trail bike for the Enduro.

Park makes one that has 4mm, 5mm, and a T-25. Pedros has made a 3-way with all Torx heads.

Just doing my part of adding to the rumors 🍿 Dak won’t tell me anything for the record. But I’m surprised more people aren’t talking about that brand that also makes goggles as a potential team. They’ve got two spots that I know of open going into next year I’d love to see him on Frameworks, just feels right. We swapped bikes in Whistler this summer for half a lap when I was riding the Frameworks, and there were a lot of similarities geo wise between the bikes–tall stack, long rear end, short axle to crown. Also minimal spring rate...
