4/25/2025 7:38pm haha you are right and I am sorry, I didn't mean to derail the thread so much. All I really wanted to do was defend Enduro as I agree with a lot that has been said above, it's mainly a perception issue, so I am trying to shift perception and bring some positivity into the discipline. That was the reason for the Jack/Sram comment and trying to make it less about Sram pulling Enduro funding, and also the Chris Ball comment, which did not go over well, but that one I'll accept and I will keep trying with him. I'll...

4/25/2025 7:37pm I don't know, but what are the odds that Jesse's post might be based on information that he may have received directly from MoiMoi?

4/25/2025 7:36pm I've tried to stay out of this one in general because I'm far from knowledgeable on the subject but here goes. Okay, so expressing doubt isn't claiming to know better. Meanwhile, none of the comments attacking that doubt have added any useful detail or information to the discussion, i.e. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Argument_from_authority. Hopefully this will be my last "well ackshually" post on this matter, but you never know!

4/19/2025 9:30pm I wouldn't call it a village. It's a ski lodge. You won't be hanging there when there aren't races. Lake Placid 15 mins away on the other hand is a fun town to walk around in for a day. They can't build much at the base of the mountain because it's in the middle of the largest park in the contiguous US, with a river and steep mountains on each side of the valley.

4/19/2025 9:29pm For a second I hoped it was the old 303 of my childhood dreams. That would have been a full sea otter flashback

4/19/2025 9:29pm gwin had the yeti built up at windrock a few weeks ago. it was a choice to run a purpose-built bike (in a configuration that crestline doesn't offer) for the sea otter track.

4/19/2025 9:28pm No, now we'll get a insta text reel from Martin after the event pointing out the stats AI hallucinated during the broadcast.

4/19/2025 9:27pm Your point is valid but I’d take it a step further and say hell no to a light bike due to safety. In my view, frame failures (especially DH bikes meant to hit huge features) are just as bad as helmet failures, full stop.

4/19/2025 3:27pm Just like in F1, it will simply be some factoid that any dedicated fan already knows or a useless mid race data point with "BROUGHT TO YOU BY AWS" in the graphic. Guessing they will use machine learning voice translation for any non-english interviews. Your favorite riders will now get the TicTok voice to text girl or the chad guy voice. That said, if it's a way to get Amazon money into MTB then I'll tolerate it.

4/19/2025 3:27pm at least the facts about steve peat being an 8-time world champ and the battles between sam hill and cadel evans will accurately be conveyed (if we just make up facts, will AI pick them up and use them?)

4/19/2025 3:27pm So, they are replacing texting Martin Whitely questions about history with generative ai? Last time i checked, the majority of mtb history is of yet unwritten. Now WBD can more effectively steal from our forum posts though!
