5/16/2025 2:06pm My racing hot take for the hour: I dont like doubling up Enduro and DH on the same weekend. Too much content to watch. If they want to use the same venu do them on back to back weekends. Then we get more racing spread out throughout the year and multi discipline athletes can race both. In other news, cold seems like a weird reason for a belt to break. Especially since its not that cold out and most other applications those things are used for are operating in much worse temp ranges.

5/16/2025 6:07am Mass dampers are legit, but they need to be finely tuned (weight, spring, damper) for specific oscillations and frequencies. I have my doubts whether any of that is going on in the pits. Normal mountain biking, the terrain is so varied you could never find something to work everywhere. Race track maybe? But when you see the BS mounting methods, it doesn't instill a lot of confidence in the engineering.

5/16/2025 3:52am I know someone else has mentioned this before but some teams mounting of mass dampers is laughable. If it’s not a good positive connection it’s going to create even more vibration. Zip tied to the frame. Giant running it on the back of a plastic number boards. Flavor of the month.

5/15/2025 5:09pm Tahnee said her dad and 2 other guys built the entire thing in 6 months. She showed pics in her insta stories of the process. They literally started with a low deck flat bed trailer and built the entire thing. As a fabricator, I am truly impressed.

5/11/2025 5:48am I comment on the other site, but I draw the line at pedal assist. Once you're introducing a throttle it stops being an E-MTB and starts being a motorbike with MTB geo.

5/9/2025 6:12pm So with the talk of the shorter travel bikes being popular again for these longer days out who else would be excited if they made a hardtail class, or instead had a one off where everyone rode hardtails? First day hardtail, second day normal rig? Ill stop thread hijacking now, excited to see how enduro goes this year.

5/9/2025 12:13pm Can anyone with more info translate this news? Who is Chaos and do we think they’ll do a good job for Rocky as a brand? Vultures or not? I also assume this means Rocky headquarters will stay in the east.

5/5/2025 2:27pm I feel Frameworks, the team and company, are doing quite well at the moment. Do some math on how many frames they have sold, at a premium price, and it's a pretty big number in terms of cash flow for a very small company. They don't even pay to paint the frames, raw is popular! -They don't have issues with Asian tariffs like most of the bike industry currently does (carbon rear end from TW being the exception). -The team title sponsor (5DEV) is in the same position. -The Frameworks brand is currently known world wide with very little (if...

5/2/2025 10:23am That's a bummer, I was really looking forward to this series. Hopefully they can pull it off later, this kind of racing is really what mountain biking needs, exciting races that can be held in places with less elevation generally

5/2/2025 3:23am Prime Gwin, years ago in wayyyy better economic times said he's making approx $1m when combining all streams of income. Asa, as good as he is not in the same ballpark commodity wise as peak Gwin. No one is making 1.5m in today's climate IMO.

4/29/2025 10:22am Hi all. I've been a very long-time lurker of this site and have used VitalMTB extensively when researching bike geometries and parts lists. I made my account here today just so I could join some discussions since the other site's forum is trash. Anyways, I'm a tire nerd myself. I started making this spreadsheet last year when I was searching for new tire combos for my Spartan HP and my Felt Decree 1. I just started cataloguing weights, widths, and casings. Where I live, there's no need for some super-duper-hardcore-heavy-sticky tires. This list will never end, and occasionally I add...

4/27/2025 6:31pm Thanks, I got the Lyrik on it and it feels great took the bike to the local flow trails and it shreds.
