I've put minions on my bontrager wheels that came on my remedy and it was the tightest fitting tire I've ever done. It was a real pain in the ass.

The current gen specialized enduro is 7 years old. So next year I won't be able to find a shop willing to true my wheel?

The one way it would make sense to me is if Crestline becomes the Frameworks E-bike sponsor and the Crestline DH bike goes away. To afford AG, Dak, Asa on one team. It's the American dream, along with AG or Dak riding Yeti, but it's also financially 2+2=5

Interesting article in the economist today (paywall so not linked) talking about the continuing rise of commuter ebikes as a supplement to (or Infact replacing) a second family car. Brands such as Tern or Urban Arrow are apparently selling much better than the general market. Anything that makes it into even slightly more mainstream media is worth noting. If I didn't live somewhere where it's -30C on occasion I'd certainly be considering one considerably more than a e-mtb. My anecdotal observation is that I'm in the minority commuting on a human powered bike these days.

Independant bike mechanic in France / Toulouse here. I only repair mechanic bikes now. No electric bikes anymore, especially not these shitty chinese nonsenses that people buy thinking they make a bargain. I'm fed up of these. I prefer to repair some old Peugeot or any bike bike from the 90's/2000's. And don't tell me about electric fat bikes...

Resident Korean resident here 1. Things to do on bikes... RIDE!!! The race weekend is also the start of the bike park season locally. There are three parks within an hour of each other, two within five minutes. Alpensia Bike Park is literally right next to Yongpyong. The parks here a different from Europe, smaller and still growing. Wellihilli is further west at lower altitude and has fun runs. You could also ride in/near Seoul. We ride year round here and the outskirts of Seoul have some fantastic singletrack. Even some rock slabs with epic views on the eastern edge...

At the risk of sounding like the 40 something year old average rider that I am, the new trek fuel and fuel + excite me. It falls into the category, suspension/geo etc, that the vast majority of riders, if they're honest about their riding require with the ability to easily tweak it one way or the other to personal preference. It seems to be getting pretty good reviews too, can't wait to try one!

what bike park? what trail style preferences? how many days of park riding? will you use outside the park and how many days? definitely a lot of variables that would change my answer by a lot depending on certain things. either way. sounds rad and like good times to come! with all the parks I ride, I opt for full blown dual 29 DH bike with coil front and rear. That is just me though. Parks: Whistler, Northstar, Crested Butte, Telluride, Purg, Big Sky, Whitefish, etc. I ride parks primarily for DH tracks and raw tech.

Their enduro team was done last year but they graciously kept me on board for this year with my contract having another year on it. Sounds obvious of course, but the bike industry isn't always so giving. The DH team took me in and I had a blast all year long, which was the main reason for doing DH at the end of the year. I just wanted to hang out with the team some more, and who wouldn't take the chance to race World Cup DH while they can. As for next year, stay tuned.

When I was young it was all about the marketing, Bearclaw on the SX Trail doing a 180 foot plant off a cliff, Semenuk laying it down on a Ticket S, even Aaron Chase and Jeff Lenosky throwing down for Cannondale and Giant was cool. These days like others I'm interested in the value, the robustness, but also on my...

I'm not 100% opposed to that idea, but I think it comes with a few caveats. A shorter final will make for a better media product, but overall worse for us hardcore fans. That would have to come with Youtube live Q2, so you can still have a chance to watch your favorite riders. And the tracks would have to be more difficult with impressive features if you're really trying to catch the barely interested TV viewer. Then you will need more non-endemic sponsors because Larry watching channel 23 doesn't give a shit about which suspension brand offers the most...

Look, it seems to me that Luckey's primary motivation for this kind of wild speculation is to drive business to his ghoulish defense contracting company. I do agree with you that geopolitical expertise is often the domain of people with shaky track records, but also posit that any intelligence sources he's "privy" to might not be of the highest quality considering that his sources are probably a cadre of right-wing media grifters turned agency administrators in leadership roles at US intelligence and defense agencies that already have their own reliability issues. I actually do consume a lot of information from...

Sure thing. That said, I appreciate @mickey raising the broader implications. We all know there’s no crystal ball when it comes to geopolitics, even the most experienced and “in the know” get it wrong. I’m less interested in what Joe or Palmer specifically think and more interested in the overarching impact, which I believe was the real tie-in to this thread. You could debate the “if” and “when” of this topic for days, citing Jeffrey Michaels, Bonnie Glaser, Oriana Skylar Mastro, and a dozen others... and still come to no meaningful conclusion. Also, calling Palmer a “mediocre electrical engineer” is...
