Guys, don't worry, Alan Greenspan told me that markets always work things out and they arrive at optimal output, consumption, and employment on their own. We live in the best of all possible worlds!

Pure speculation here, but I'm guessing Gwin wants to race a few hardlines before he potentially hosts one at Windrock. Beyond that speculation it's a good career longevity move it seems with lots of older badass riders on the start list.

The embed function is wigging out. I would post in the trials thread but then no one would see it. I wonder if Mike from the Sunday vid took at least a little inspiration from this dude.

Maah no frickel gate, no shiny coffe machines nor spy shots… everyone is so correct in 2026. No podcasts with some spicy insider information.

In case anyone is still using the OEM plastic tubeless strips that come on Bontrager rims, those are equivalent to ~4 layers of tubeless tape. It also makes the center channel narrower and won't allow both beads of DH tires to sit in the channel at the same time, a recipe for frustration. Replacing that with 1 layer of tubeless tape is the first step.

I don't think it correct to assume that "Supercar money" can not be made in the Bike Industry. You can make decent money in the bike industry, then reinvest that money in something that multiplies your wealth astronomically. We live in a crazy world, where you can make insane amount of money with speculation in no time, if you are smart and/or lucky. Now, that money may not directly come from the bike industry, but I would say he could have pulled off his wealth from smart investment of money that he originally made in the bike industry. I believe...

Campagnolo has also basically abandoned most OEM sales, except maybe for Ekar. Their product tiers effectively now run from "premium" to "ultra-premium." Not sure that strategy is working out the way they'd hoped.

Damn that would've been cool being able to ride with those guys. I thought the early 2000s Northshore/ trials crossover was always super cool. A local freeride shop built log rides and ladder bridges all across the edges of their parking lot and everybody thought that was the coolest back then. ObservedTrials.net was definitely the forum for trials riders and...

I thought it was brilliant. Chris touched on all of the issues - team not getting paid, YT usa, paying customers with no bikes - and Flossman was free to respond naturally. Instead of diluting or improving my perception of tribulations at YT, I found the conversation really reinforced Flossman's now infamous character- zero accountability, empathy or remorse for the customers and staff involved, and constantly focused on the implications to the brand (not people) and damage limitation measures. If this was a parole hearing he'd be miles from getting his sentence commuted. I don't think this was good publicity...

I tried to make this clear in my follow-up audio note, but I’m really not trying to throw shade at @Downtime Podcast or Chris. Two things can be true: Chris is one of the best hosts in the MTB world, and the Markus episode missed the mark for some of us. No podcast hits a home run every time. Every show I listen to has episodes where I think, “not for me” or “this one whiffed.” That’s normal. And the same is obviously true for my own content. In a way, Chris let Markus make his own bed. Anyone who...

I don't understand what you are getting at. YT made a financial commitment to those racers, those racers fulfilled their end of the agreement and Markus failed to pay them what he owed them. Whether you think a race team is a good investment or not, a business owner should pay their obligations. While it may be legal to not pay the team members it isn't ethical.

1. This guy is probably right 2. This varies too much jurisdiction to jurisdiction for us to really comment on here unless someone's familiar with the alcohol regulatory scheme of Arkansas and wants to chime in 3. most (all?) jurisdictions do one-off limited licenses for events (notably though, some jurisdictions require money to change hands for their one-off events. No free beer at all! Although to get around this, YT would hire a catering company, pay the catering company for the drinks, and then give them out). A full license is most likely not required. On another note, I'm interested...

Probably just pay a outside bartending company that would serve at events that way handle having a license to serve not the location where its being served.

I bought two on day of release and been riding it since, One alloy 8 and one carbon 9.8(one for my boy but also for me 🤣) I honestly think they are fantastic, Simple layout, easy to work on, Quiet and they ride awesome. We both found the progressive setup to be the best for us, The alloy is heavier but man it's ride feel is really nice and I think I prefer it - You can just tell its built tough aswell which has been a frustrating thing for me and alloy bikes as they never seem to last.

Not trying to derail too much but did the YT mills have bars that served alcohol? Liquor licenses are stupid expensive, seems like that would be an outrageous cost, pick a lane buds budget friendly direct to consumer or swanky experience people, they're not the same.

my first time visiting there... on the full MTB. obviously my riding doesn't even really highlight it. someone with a lifetimes set of trials skills would feel like this place is disneyland (by the beach!) skip to 2:30 for the blatant trials course...
