8/2/2024 3:59pm I might have to give the super soft a try. Im trying enduro soft in the front first and dh soft in rear but might switch out the front to a dh super soft if that doesnt feel great on our trails. Never ride in the wet here cause the clay turns so slick its like riding on ice.

A lot of talk about the Contis recently. I've ran the Kryptotal F-R Enduro Soft version for a few months since I was curious about them. Pretty easy to mount and inflate. The mechanical grip is there but the tire leaves very much to wish for in the wet. The soft compound is harder than both Maxxis Maxxterra and Schwalbe Soft in my opinion. The tires works well in the dry, but as soon as it gets wet the front really wanders around a lot. I hope the SuperSoft compund is better. The soft compound is definitly better for durability...

7/30/2024 8:42pm Ive considered the wheels but the warranty of santa cruz is pushing me towards some reserves. The frame i probably would have bought except for only being able to fit a 150mm seat post. That sounds pretty reasonable if they are focusing on wheels and putting the bikes on the back burner for a while.

They pretty much nailed everything except superboost. They'll never admit it, but in hindsight I'm guessing they chose superboost to incentivize customers to buy a new set of wheels with the frame ("rolling chassis" option). Thanks but no thanks. I do have a non stupid boost set of WAO Convergence wheels and its the best carbon wheelset i've ever owned. Completely bullet proof and excellent ride quality.

I recall from a recent podcast with the head guy (I can’t remember his name) they were doubling down on focusing on wheels since that was their money maker. So maybe they are sold out and aren’t in a hurry to make more frames

Not a rumor but confirmed by the man himself, Troy Lee mentioned he's working on the D5 on his appearance for the Gypsy Tales podcast. In other helmet rumors, did anyone hear why everyone affiliated with Alpinestars is on the SM10? Need a helmet after my brand new Dissident II carbon shell was cracked from a less than hip height fall from my bar, I'd hoped it was one of the safer offerings out there but no longer convinced.
