Today at Eurobike, DJI introduced their new ebike motor/battery system called Avimox with an Amflow PL e-mountain bike.
DJI.com has tech information, DC Rainmaker drops a no-frills video about the system, its connectivity, and some insights as to how DJI and Amflow are connected. There's an over-zealous report from Sam's Bikes on YouTube, too. They show geo numbers. Neither ride the bike off road.
Both videos are below with some key specs. Clearly the launch is all about the motor/battery/controls because the bike itself isn't terribly special(ized) looking.
Thoughts?

Crazy how good that dji rig looks for a first effort!
OOF is that a trunnion mounted, yoke driven shock?
Put that motor on a 190mm F/R Enduro rig at around 45lbs and I'll be throwing cash their way.
It's going to be hard to judge how well it performs when the shock is losing air and/or damping every second ride

where is this brand from?? Amflow is an Asian brand?
DJI subbrand, they will sell the motor to other manufacturers, but Amflow will get all the updates first. Source: DJI rep in some video
DJI is Chinese
It'll be interesting to see which other brands adopt. The power/torque to weight ratio looks to be game changing, but the projected retail prices are higher than I'd expect to see for an unknown and unproven brand (as far as the frame is concerned).
One thing that is nice is no cables from the handlebar controls. Seems very quiet too.
Put an x2 on it and you might not even get 2 rides. Maybe a really beefy coil to get a couple extra rides out of it before service?
I was in my LBS last week and they said they're an authorised dealer for Amflow. They're expecting the first batch sometime October/November. It'll be interesting to hear the thoughts of early purchasers a few months down the road (particularly how the shock is holding up).
First video I have seen on the DJI Motor, looks really well done. Wireless controls make such a difference. My Shimano bike looks like a mess with all the wires going all over.
So about this yoke driven trunnion shock, how bad is it going to be?
If, and it's a big if, the frame and linkage was stiff enough, it won't be an issue right?
Are there air shocks that have a better chance of surviving?
Coil shocks will have a risk of snapping right? Although the shock itself is tiny which might help?
I typically prefer 160-180mm ebikes, but being honest with current life/family situation, this bike would allow me to do a couple more descents on my lunch rides, which are the only riding I'm doing these days...
I wonder if there is any rumours of the next bike firm to intergrate this motor?
