6/13/2026 11:37pm Excuse my French, but could we fucking please stop calling bikes "analog", "acoustic", or -the worst I've heard- "bio"? Bikes are bikes. Ebikes are something else. Now get off my fucking lawn you punks!

6/11/2026 5:25am The PUSH "speed service" is simply a lower (or upper😀) leg service, it has nothing to do with the damper. While it's nice to be able to change the bath oil without dropping the legs, I clean the entire leg out when doing a lower service anyway. Injecting clean oil into a dirty fork seems counterintuitive. If you ride in wet conditions it can get nasty in there pretty quickly. The best feature of the PUSH 9.1 speed service oil ports is that you can assemble the fork "dry" and then add bath lube after it's fully together.

6/11/2026 5:11am If anyone doesnt understand this bike I dont blame him, neither did I. But after spending few days in a Sud Tyrol town, through which runs a long distance cycle path that connects Northern Italy and Germany my perception changed big time: I only used said cycle path to link different trails for few km at the time but I'd encounter hundreds of elder people riding such bikes. It was eye opening and I realized there exist bike markets I had no idea about...

5/31/2026 7:00pm Short travel coil king is probably Banshee Prime, 135 out back up to 160 up front, somewhere between 25-30% progression and goated geo. On one side it is like the dumbest bike ever because it doesn't work with air shock at all (even tho it comes specced with one), which means you have to slap coil on it, and once you have coil you wanna go fast but you have 130mm of travel so you have to put on some DH tires.... and you end up with 16 kg+ trail bike which is not ideal because you basically end up...

5/22/2026 12:43am @AgrAde your comment disagrees with itself - and private equity is more interested in margin and stability than pure market share. If you cannibalise your own market (schwinn, focus, mongoose, GT, Cannondale, Santa Cruz) while also producing largely identical four bar and flex stay bikes where those brands used to have real differentiation and innovation by way of their suspension IP, your business is pretty ripe for disruption by others (unless you can engage in the market death spiral of buying all that IP up). The one thing GT (or any brand using a 4 bar or flex pivot) had...

5/17/2026 1:13am Take it easy buddy. I’m not trying to derail the entire conversation but also think it’s allowed to have an aside now and again. There’s plenty of off topic quips that go on in this thread.

5/17/2026 1:13am I think a better reason is because Ford was a nazi sympathizer. That said, we have more than likely all owned products from companies with ties to the nazis sadly.

5/17/2026 1:11am Be so cool to see an Evil DH bike again. When Evil first launched with the Revolt in alloy I think they had quite a few warranty frames. They replaced all or nearly all. Not sure if material, fabrication, heat treating or what, but I remember a lot of them breaking. That was like 15 years ago, if not longer. I think the Undead (the carbon DH bike) were much more reliable. Then they shifted their focus to trail and enduro bikes. Since then, Sorge and others have ridden their enduro (Wreckoning) bike at Rampage and such without seeing that...

5/2/2026 12:59am I think one of the largest "We're not in Kansas anymore" moments I had when I began working for a component manufacturer after years in bikes shops was when I had the insignificance of aftermarket sales explained to me. Don't get me wrong, every brand worth their salt is going to support aftermarket product bc why leave money on the table, but OE sales are king in the bike industry and ultimately OE sales drives every design decision. SRAM gets to push the convenience of full SRAM spec by limiting cross compatibility. For brands like Canyon, Specialized, etc., who are...

5/2/2026 12:56am I don't like the things Sram appear to have learned from the UDH launch and adoption. Again, they're trying to be Apple, just waiting for the EU to knock them down a peg haha.

5/1/2026 4:34am Pricing pressures mean most if not all automotive components are designed to be made as cheap as possible, which coincides with as unrepairable as possible. Mercedes recently came out with what is essentially "we will start using screws to assemble headlights again as its stupid to throw away 1500 usd of front light over a 10 usd fault". But that's what's happening now as most if not all headlight assemblies are essentially permanently bonded during assembly. Also, IC motors (engines) not being throwaway like ebike drive units are, they actually are. If you have a normie car and blow the...
