Also, I'm 99% sure that's a 223mm Freeza rotor, finally. As I write this, the stamped RT66 is the only Shimano rotor you can buy in that size, which is wild to me. Shimano needs to release a bigger high-end laser cut brake rotor for heavy dudes, ebikes, and steep places.

I'm not saying that isn't a Manitou coil shock but the spring retention piece is very similar/same as a Vorsprung Telum: I'm fortunate enough to have a Telum and walked out to my garage to verify the shape as my first impression seeing the photo of that shock was 'that looks familiar'. You could say I was...bites knuckle...shocked. Not sure why Manitou hasn't made a coil shock in ages though so intrigued if it is a Manitou for sure.

Been discussed here before, I think, but the coil shock on the Gamux bike is visible here. Manitou got anything to chim in on this?

3 test sessions, 18 runs, 9 hours, 1 roasted rear tire, and a few more dings in the rim. The results are finally in with the Fluid Focus tuned Marzocchi Bomber CR coming out on top in every session. All three shocks were ridden extensively prior to the timed runs, including multiple bracketing sessions to get the settings in a good place. The bracketing sessions were done purely based on feel, no timing or other analytics. Avalanche Racing Bomber CR (tuned by Avalanche) This shock felt good right away. It has a magic carpet type ride where chatter and trail...

The Shockcraft tuning kit is easily the most complex out of the three; the rebound circuit is fully checked using a new piston bolt and a one way valve system, the shim stacks configurations for compression & rebound are like nothing I have ever seen, and it includes a new base valve piston bolt as well so all shims are now metric sizing and much easier to source. The test track is drying out rapidly and may be good to go by this weekend. Eager to get going with this one. 🤘

This pic was from last weekend, and more white stuff has since dropped (and is continuing to drop). Local riding season may very well be over, and that means time for suspension projects! There is a lot in the works, including another coil shock test and comparison. The Battle of the Bombers The Marzocchi Bomber CR (and previously the Fox Vanilla RC) has gained quite a following due to the solid architecture and ability to modify it to suit a wide spectrum of end users. It utilizes a light weight and compact chassis, has a large 27mm main piston, is...
