4/24/2026 9:16am That's why they are releasing this now: "Hey boss, can we start teasing the new goods? Not yet, gotta wait until thegromit orders the current version...."

4/22/2026 10:36pm I have very limited (none) education in engineering, and i still can't understand the need for two chains? To snap a chain in a straight line demands more force than a sprint from the start gate. So please internet, give me some answears!

3/19/2026 8:20pm Honestly, the Reya is the first XC bike that I really, really want to try as a 6'3" individual. I feel like that jack nichelson nodding meme as I work my way down the geo chart on the XL. Edit: Can we also agree that peak bike industrial design is a straight top tube that aligns directly with the seat tube... connecting the top of the head tube to the rear axle with an un-interrupted straight line?

3/19/2026 7:29am I know this is dangerously close to a chainstay derail, but I love that Forbidden made a 120mm bike with a 464mm chainstay in the XL size. That's real long, but if you don't like it you can buy literally any other XL lightweight 120mm bike. Curious how it rides. Could be sick. [Editor's note: I THINK THIS COUNTS AS AN INNOVATION]

8/15/2025 11:17pm You guys should take the arguing to PMs so you can effectively yell into the same echo chamber. In here, we should discuss upside down suspension stuff. You know, "Stranger things, season 4, forks and stuff"

8/1/2025 6:24am I started paying attention to geo about ten years ago. For a while there every enduro bike release was trying to update to get closer to the Giant Reign of 2015 without anyone really saying so. That was in the everything needs to be longer, lower and slacker days. Couple of outliers came along, Pole and Geometron being the ones I remember. For the most part, seated cockpit sizes still haven’t recovered. 645mm ett used to be large territory, now that’s an xl in a lot of brands. If you want that 78-80° seat tube, you need a 530-540 reach...

8/1/2025 6:22am 1) I think you're at the exact peak of the Dunning Kruger graph here. 2) That was a hint to get this discussion out of this thread.

8/1/2025 6:21am Every time you mention this random ass definition of what a chainstay length is, i can't help but think about how it doesn't make any sense unless you're talking only about single pivot bikes, and how everyone you talk to is going to misunderstand you anyway. The fun thing about language is that words mean what people understand them to mean, not what you want them to mean. I'll post the rest of my response to this in the chainstay thread.

7/22/2025 2:02pm At least Trek's frameset pricing is getting really reasonable for these. Goes to show you where the cost is going, because $5300 CAD for a 37 pound bike with eagle 70, rhythm/performance suspension, db8s, and entirely in-house parts otherwise is.... ehh. Like the old adage, light, cheap or strong, pick two - now you get to pick none.

7/22/2025 1:55pm No so sure about the strategy of, in fairly quick succession, having a huge sale and taking a bunch of people's money, sending them an email telling them neither the bike nor a refund are imminent, and then launching a new version of a bike called the "decoy."
