The Mara and Mara Pro use a fixed negative spring pressure, and every review I've read has pointed to that as a glaring flaw in an otherwise decent shock package. I doubt sales have been strong for either shock, and I would not be surprised if Manitou introduced an updated version with a self-equalizing (or at least adjustable) air spring.

Can of worms opened! Yes it's recyclable, but not into its original form. Can use it in chopped strand stuff. Resin has to be burnt. Very expensive. No-one really does it. Ally can be, but uses shit loads of energy to extract in raw form. Swings and roundabouts. No-one ever quantifies the environmental damage. Chose your material and be a dick about it If you really cared you'd hang onto your current bike until it brakes and not buy another one!

Aluminum bikes are not disposable, they are recyclable. Carbon bikes are disposable and not recyclable. I heard Big S kept their aluminum bike team when some of them carbon folks got laid off. The return of aluminum is here!

The new MRP Lift damper is sold in several different tunes for different weight ranges. Not quite what you are describing but a step in that direction. Would be good to see some reviews of this new damper. Hopefully it's a viable option.

New riders and advanced riders all in the same bucket with only 10 clicks to separate them. As bikes change and skills advance more quickly, this assembly line damping process struggles to keep up with the changes. None of the fork companies would ever do this, but wouldn’t it be interesting if they just offered a chassis? You could build the forks tuning from the ground up with whatever tuner you think is best…

Yep, V4. Blister podcast (Bikes & Big ideas) had an interview with EXT founder Franco Fratton in which they talked about the updates.

Looks like they're adopting a polymer ring that fits between the spring and collar, similar to what Push does? Hopefully that ring will fit on existing shocks, mine sometimes develops a creak from that interface after particularly muddy rides. Small and low cost detail that I think all coil shocks would benefit from.

The Cotic built frame used 38.1 mm of tubes for tt/st/dt. The dt being the same one they used on their Rocket Max. This new front end was built by Adam Prosise (formerly worked for Reeb now building stuff out of his own shop under Prosise Metal Works). I would guess that he used the Velospec 44.5mm tube with a 1-.7-.9 butting or Fairing also makes a 44.5mm .9 straight gauge tube. That is the beefiest commercial available tube of reasonable weight. Next bigger option would be to internally relieve a 50.8mm 1.2mm tube on a lathe. I would expect...
