Personally I think the split positions before and after the incident should be used to determine if a rerun is given. If the rider loses positions because of an incident then give a rerun. If they don't, like the case with Hattie, then no re-run should happen. It's not perfect and still open to exploitation if riders stop more than...
Does anyone else remember the Nike Swiftsuits that were used in the Sydney Olympics? The story is incredibly similar to the Fox Speedsuit. Nike came up with a suit for runners with claimed aerodynamic benefits that was not that practicle and definitely not intended for or relatable to the average club runner and fan. It went on to win some...

The thing is, not failing is pretty low goal to strive for isn't it? Because there is absolutely no performance benefit in this orientation whatsoever. Only benefit is free advertising from us talking about most likely soon to be released brake.

I agree it's worth giving them the benefit of the doubt at this stage, if the rotors are thick it's probably fine. I can definitely think of plenty of examples where companies from other industries have tried to bring their wisdom to bikes and failed miserably. Bikes can sometimes need a unique solution, that isn't the norm elsewhere.

I've been using 2.3mm rotors for a while now and they are amazingly resistant to bending, which is good news as none of my truing tools will fit them. So, as you say they're probably thick enough to be fine.

Well there is a technical reason why everyone else does it the other way round and also past failures to support that. It could be that the rotors are thick enough now that they won't fail by buckling if loaded in this direction but I think they would be stronger the other way round.

Personally I think there are plenty of storylines and content for a boots on the ground live audio only or desk show punctuated with clips/media/info from roving reporters. Just need to see what Bex Barona managed by herself on Instagram this past wee end to believe it could work. Honestly if you got the right host/hosts I would just listen/watch them chatting shit about the live timing results rather than refreshing the stupid page myself.

So stoked to see a proper enduro race and good coverage of it! Warning, mini essay on the state of Enduro ahead! I know the that downhill is more spectacular, and it’s certainly easier to cover, but there is something about proper enduro that really draws me in. One aspect is definitely that it’s more relatable — it’s the kind of riding and racing that I do. I can easily imagine just how fried they feel after 4 big days, or a after completing a long taxing stage where you’re just hanging on. But even moreso, it’s the narrative of...

Yeah true. At least Actofive appears to have a good understanding of engineering fundamentals. I like that brand, even if I can't afford their products.

What's amazing with this design is that Canyon have decided a single pivot is good enough to control the axle path, braking behaviour and pedalling behaviour but the leaverage rate requires a 6 bar linkage and all the additional complexity and hardware associated with that.

or maybe he just likes the low-key vibes of working with neko and has a good support system where he is. playing the long game of success, comfort, familiarity and fun vs short game of some cash but with a team that may not culturally gel or a bike that doesn't work for him right away.

Only thing I would be concerned about here (aside from voiding your warranty) is inadvertently pushing the primary seal on the MC piston past the timing port holes, making the system a closed brake. Time will tell. If you start to lose a brake due to starving the system of fluid or start to have the brake locking up/bite point firming up erratically will tell you that is the case.

What that should be telling you is that yes, the primary seal has crossed the timing port holes as it is now engaging the caliper without lever activation. That in turn says you have exceeded the design limit intents of the feature and are potentially putting your safety at risk.

For all things mechanic wise, assume you're the weak link in the process and do your best to strengthen your knowledge of fit and process. RTFM, RTFM again, RTFM one more time for good measure. And read it, don't skim (done it, bit me in the ass a couple times, and it was embarrassing). If all that fails, reach out to tech support. The folx working phones and computers are generally hella helpful and quite likely more experienced in the set-up of their wares and definitely know of any potential manufacturing issue that's preventing you from getting the ideal you're...

What you describe with lengthening the bite point screw to change the feel of the brakes isn't really consistent with how hope brakes, or open hydraulic brake systems in general, work. The bite point screw doesn't change the position of the pads; this is determined by the seals in the caliper and the gap to the disc will be the...
