3/23/2026 10:02pm Good question and I've heard this for years. I can't find a great source, but Whistler was publicly traded until 2016 and did disclose revenue by quarter (duh) back then. In 2016 they were doing ~$70M in "ticket sales, retail and rental, food and ski school ops" revenue through the warm weather quarters against a total of ~$230M. So no, its very unlikely they were matching revenue. Profitability was even worse, with EBITDA margin around break even for these months, but I hardly did a deep dive. One other fun fact, I believe they count bike tickets under "other visits"...

3/21/2026 11:16pm " • Tariffs on Chinese-origin bikes now stack to roughly 56% (big impact for e-bikes and certain manufacturers like Santa Cruz). That's base duty + Section 301 + the new Section 122 surcharge" For those of us who weren't following the tariff picture closely until recently, can you give me an idea of how that compares to 2024 or earlier? In other words, is the total 56% tariff stack compared to 0% in 2024, or were there already some minor tariffs in place that reduce the delta? Either way, the point should be somewhat moot as we should all be...

3/21/2026 1:47am Just added a new post to my substack for those interested. Here is the synopsis... The Bad (mostly covered here) • The factories in Taiwan are getting way fewer orders. • Canyon full year 2025: revenue down 7%, EBITDA down 34% • Knolly news (see above) - one thing I didn't mention is the mechanics here. Getting your LOC called sucks, and it extra sucks when your business has been contracting. I do wonder what the business actually looks like, how big the delta was (how much cash did they need) and if they were forecasting a profitable year. I...

3/21/2026 1:39am Pivot says they change kinematics on each size, but I don't think they manufacture a different set of links to do it, I think they just shift mounting points on the front triangle: https://www.pivotcycles.com/en-us/technology/size-specific-design-and-r… Pivot says: "For bikes where chainstay length varies with size, suspension kinematics naturally change. However, we modify pivot points to ensure optimal curves for each size. We optimize the kinematics for each frame size based on a rider’s center of gravity and average saddle height per size to ensure consistent suspension kinematics for every size rider." Other than that, the only other company I can think...

3/19/2026 8:49pm lol kinda, 6’6” wingspan. Even on my Madonna I feel like I’m cramped. A buddy of mine had the new v10 in an XL and when I sat on it, I felt like it wasn’t big enough. Was going to get an XL Summum, but swayed by the new Vessel and am working with Jack to come up with some custom geo that should fit like a glove. When I was racing in my 20’s I could care less about this stuff but now being in my 40’s and getting back into racing it matters a lot more.

3/19/2026 8:48pm It's awesome Vital is getting enough recognition that Fox decided to chime in. So far they haven't done anything but clarify a few things and answer a couple questions. @FoxFactory can you upgrade an existing gripX2 with the new mid-valve or does it require a whole new damper?

3/19/2026 8:48pm Correct, though as of last year Float X2 is no longer twin tube and has moved to a mono-tube design. We kept the X2 designations to help the majority of riders understand what product relates to what category and what adjustments they can expect on the product.

3/19/2026 8:48pm The new air shaft and dampers are backwards compatible for 40 - a new air spring/damper will take some different setup guidance than on the new fork due to air volume changes with the new chassis so "suggested settings" may not apply. If you are ever confused by what Model Year your product is you can look it up the serial number on tech.ridefox.com. Your gold fork would be considered Model Year 25 (Calendar Year 2024).

3/19/2026 8:44pm Not at all, especially with a 637mm stack. I already run 35mm rise bars on a 660 stack bike to get the bars to a point when I’m not in a stupid low squat when. My S5 stumpy has 495mm reach with 63.5ha and a taller stack. 1300mm wheelbase, that’s shorter than my stumpy and that’s not even an enduro bike…

3/19/2026 8:38pm Honestly, the Reya is the first XC bike that I really, really want to try as a 6'3" individual. I feel like that jack nichelson nodding meme as I work my way down the geo chart on the XL. Edit: Can we also agree that peak bike industrial design is a straight top tube that aligns directly with the seat tube... connecting the top of the head tube to the rear axle with an un-interrupted straight line?

3/19/2026 8:35pm A few points that I consider: if you follow the fc/rc convos most riders who are saying they need a longer CS are taller riders. The debate has mostly ended up with a desire for proportional stays, not necessarily longer stays overall. I think that mediums tend to ride pretty darn well from what I hear, and I think the ratio will probably attest to that… From a business perspective i kinda have to applaud them. They seem to understand where they have an opportunity not only overall but even down to a size-specific market share opportunity. Smaller sized frames...

3/19/2026 8:34pm Yes I get that. I own a Dreadnought but with 456mm RC, size medium. I still think longer rear centers work for short people as well. I was expecting their shorter travel bike to still have a bit longer RC. Their MO has been longer stays, higher stacks, moderate reach numbers for all bikes sizes. I am just stating that their medium is pretty average size for a frame size in this category so it doesn't stand out all that much from other similar bikes. If I were an L or XL I think its a great bike.
