5/6/2025 3:02pm We’re not allowed to call them chainstays anymore . We must refer to them as (part of) the rear centre… or face forum judgement.

5/6/2025 8:20am What's amazing with this design is that Canyon have decided a single pivot is good enough to control the axle path, braking behaviour and pedalling behaviour but the leaverage rate requires a 6 bar linkage and all the additional complexity and hardware associated with that.

5/1/2025 2:31pm I doubt the sparkling water guys were that behind on their ebike development payments.

4/25/2025 9:28am This is not mtb but its one of the more interesting ideas lately, has it been already mentioned here?

4/25/2025 9:27am You just adjust your technique. If you rode exclusively high pivots for a while, then hopped on a more traditional design, it would immediately feel very strange the other way too.

4/24/2025 2:59pm I think I understand where does this build comes from. Hint: one guy dared to ask me: "Is that a gravel bike?"- (It is a rigid flat bar XC rocket with 2.2" tires and really weird bar-ends). Anyway I REALLY LIKE IT Even the name of the frame model is an irony in itself and those lines: "Sometimes you just want your bike to be a bike, you know? And sometimes you want it to be stupid. This is both." - Made me laugh out loud. I like humour but I do not laugh out loud often. Cheers to you...

4/24/2025 3:01pm Grovel bike? You'll be govelling with customer support if you ever need a warranty with that brand, HA! Kinda sick actually. Love the drop bar drop post combo. Working on something similar of my own less the suspension fork! I remember my first dropper post (on a 170mm fr/rr NS Soda Air, mind you) was a crotch grab style like that. Always a battle between taking a hand off during a descent to drop the seat after you forgot and just descending with your seat up. Terror indeed.

4/24/2025 2:11pm I believe that Parts&Accessories and budget bicycles typically follow the 40% guidance, but with higher dollar margin items the % drops off significantly. Not hard rules, but P&A is the profit earners for shops.

4/24/2025 1:55pm Yup - I remember returning to tech industry last year after a decade in bikes and thinking "holy sh** people have budgets, forecasts and turn profits?!?"

4/24/2025 2:15pm Sorry KP, I should have specified in my somewhat facetious, off-the-cuff comment that I was talking about complete bikes! Fixed now! I will also add that on the shop end we saw significant degradation in the 40-50% P&A margin across a lot of brands and categories over the last 10 years. Most things stayed in that range but a number...

4/24/2025 1:20pm Uh oh every brand selling complete bikes in the industry except the most entry-est level of hardtail from the biggest brands at their A++ level stores.
