It's funny, and I know this is semantic, but Kickstarter is like the private-est of equity. Also, regarding the viability of releasing a mid-price alloy wheel in 2025: is there an overstock of wheels? I've seen forks, bikes, and clothes on sale, I've even seen tires on sale, but I haven't seen a lot of wheels on sale. And alloy wheels are kind of a disposable wear item for people who ride.

I dunno, NRG is still cool because Lanctot seems to more or less have kept their operation intact (and their B2B still sucks ass it just isn't AS bad as it was). If anything NRG made Lanctot a lot cooler because I don't think any of the XC ski distributors in Canada are remotely competent in comparison to the bike...

NRG is still cool, but now that Lanctot owns them a lot of the spirit is gone. You are right about Orange though, I missed them when thinking about Canadian distributors. They're more bike nerd or shop kid cool than 2008 TLD pajamas at the bike park on a Morewood cool though.

Lama cycles, the last cool distributor in Canada is going on "Hiatus" for the time being as per the other site. Unfortunate as they were the only place to get nice DJ stuff in the country and was a huge supporter of DH in eastern Canada, although they were smaller than the big guys. Very sad to see them go.

Is "Gravel Biking" In the room with us right now? Mwood, you asked a little while back about how people figured out Carbonda had Nukeproof - Carbonda is the "will sell DTC" branch of Flybike, the actual manufacturer who will not sell DTC. Members of a forum dedicated to the stuff have found they have Dissents, Megas and Gigas available...

Interesting to see it says brand only. I wonder what that actually means and how much IP was included. Is it literally only branding and they have to essentially start product development from scratch on all their frames (and slap the logo on a bunch of Taiwanese factory P&A), or if substantial IP was part of the "brand"? I hope...

RE: Nukeproof, this is a portion of an interview on Bike-EU with Belgian Cycling Factory CEO Joachim Aerts. Full article is behind a paywall. How big is Nukeproof in relation to Ridley? Ridley is about half the size of Nukeproof in revenue. Nukeproof also includes a series of parts and accessories. We will continue to distribute these. What other assets were included in the take-over? We only acquired the brand, nothing else. To maintain the continuity of the brand, key members of the previous team have already joined us, bringing their expertise and deep understanding of the brand’s DNA. Together...

Or Cog-ring, if you will. The one nice thing about XD for big torquey boys and ebikes is the fact the system held up much better to torque than soft HG freehub bodies. Not only are you going to have to use the enforcer lever to get the damn lockring off, you'll probably have to employ the hammer to remove...
