5/14/2025 12:04pm I love the idea. I try not to comment on looks but I'm certainly getting a "Cousin of a Rotec but in Deliverance" vibes. Would still love to try it.

5/14/2025 12:03pm they just venmo me $2.79 per deletion. it's very rare we get asked to take anything down and in 16 years of being at vital, i don't remember any leaning/pressure from brands "if you don't do X, we'll hold back from working with you." just because something was here and goes away doesn't always mean we deleted it. we delete if asked by a brand b/c someone that shouldn't have had the info/photos/videos leaked the info/photos/videos or if an NDA was clearly broken. we don't delete if a product is out in public, if someone was careless with their hiding...

5/14/2025 12:02pm The front shock mount is on an eccentric cam so you can change the LR and bb height by rotating the shock mount. The other end of the shock is on a yoke with a threaded heim joint so the bb height can also be adjusted this way. The suspension is a layout like the Nukeproof Giga. Short link off the rear end drives a rocker link. The guy behind this does a polymer bushing like a spherical bearing.

5/14/2025 12:02pm Somewhat meta question about this thread (please don't yell at me if this is off topic): In the rare instanced when Vital deletes spy shots at brands' behest, do they get a financial kickback or do the brands lean on their advertising dollars to apply pressure? Because they should not be deleting that for free!

5/14/2025 10:05am But they added an idler which might actually be an improvement the linkage-driven single pivot bikes. Theorycraft on maybe that's what next year Nukeproof was going to be before the fall? Glad to see Borealis isn't done. Fat bikes are certainly a niche product but there's probably room for someone like Borealis to continue as more and more mainstream brands...

5/14/2025 9:37am That's a hilarious take, and it would be PEAK Specialized if true - taking the gates prize on a technicality with a bike that has a chain and derailleur is up there with suing a cafe.

5/13/2025 12:15pm Uh... no. That's precisely why they need to bring the name back. Sometimes companies have iconic and excellent names from years past that would totally apply to their new platform and instead call it something else. Or use the iconic name on an ebike.

5/12/2025 6:21pm Glad to hear it! Cool product and would have been a bummer if it didn't work out. Still want to try out STFU against all the other pedal kickback/chain slap devices I'm trying. One of those situations where if the $40 option could get you 80% of the benefit of the $400 option, that would be pretty sweet for most riders.

5/12/2025 3:56pm Hey I'm back (with Rocky). I might post a bit less here as I navigate current state of the bike industry; I've got a mountain of work to get through after being away from it all for 5 months. Thanks for the well wishes.

5/12/2025 6:33am I think everything that wasn't covered in the 10 million pound purchase of brand and IP went directly into the bin or auction house. I wouldn't be surprised if the moulds were surrendered to the factory to pay off debts or just abandoned.

5/11/2025 7:22pm as I mentioned earlier in the thread you can just buy them direct from Carbonda/Flybike so I'm assuming if individuals can then the lid's blown open on anybody picking them up to slap labels on em'.

5/10/2025 2:37pm thats why i wanted to share it here. there is a lot of confusion about ebikes being motorcycles and its like, guys, when they have throttles youll be wishing for the days when class 3 was a controversy. its all about perspective and understanding that assisted pedaling is nothing to cry about. its this pit bike whining up the trails that we should be pissed about.

5/10/2025 2:37pm FFS. You know how there's those grumpy commenters on the other site that call every E-Bike a motorbike or moped? This is that, and I hate it. The fun of an E-Bike is that it takes a lot of the effort out of pedalling, but it still feels like youre riding a mountain bike. This is a literal motorbike conversion, but with MTB geo. Gross.

5/10/2025 2:37pm I comment on the other site, but I draw the line at pedal assist. Once you're introducing a throttle it stops being an E-MTB and starts being a motorbike with MTB geo.
