Jonathon Simonetti Added a reply to 2024 TEAM RUMORS
10/17/2023 3:55pm Will be interesting to see how they handle Reece Wilson coming back to racing wearing a 6D helmet. After his trip to So Cal this spring where he tagged them in some IG stories that's all he's been wearing in the few riding clips he's shared since. Seems he's prioritizing concussion safety over everything after suffering the symptoms this past...

10/12/2023 1:45pm They must still have TONNES of right legs on a shelf somewhere after only selling the left ones for years

10/10/2023 9:55pm I rode one as well- I remember watching the wheel dive left when you pulled the front brake. made it squirrelly under braking. they had a very special hub to try and add stiffness. Everyone hated that custom hub. it was wider and had huge knurled end caps that were rigidly connected to try and get some stiffness back. Would be even flexier without the special hub- probably unsafe to ride… looked super cool though

10/10/2023 9:53pm What must be loudly said about SRAM is they easily provide technical specifications documents regarding their products from which one can deduce standard specs like Boost while Shimano hardly specs any technical drawings.

10/4/2023 11:31pm Altenative solution then : the winner can ride in pants, but needs to have his legs's picture printed 360 degrees from the knee so it looks like shorts ? All the looks while having the protection and compliance with the rules. Just throwing ideas out there.

9/28/2023 10:41am Well Carlson has announcing contracts for next year getting floated his way so maybe he's just saying what the companies offering him a job are telling him, which could be real data or utter TV publicity hype machine marketing guy making up stuff. The nonsense about condensing the sport to a tiny viewership in a little bitty time slot on TV makes ZERO sense. Right now, Peacock is pumping out a MotoCross, SuperCross or SMX race weekly with two 4 Hour live broadcasts. And I don't think there are tons glued to the live broadcast because of it. But with...

9/15/2023 2:10pm A truly waterproof headset would be nice. I live in a dry area and my headset still gets creaky and rusty way too soon. Obviously I wouldn’t buy a new bike because of only that

9/15/2023 2:10pm There was an interesting post by @bulletbass man in our 2024 team rumors forum thread about what new bikes and what bike brands are offering lately. Short version - bikes are so good these days that gimmicks and/or tiny performance improvements aren't enough to warrant a new bike purchase. bulletbass' suggestion to get more sales is that brands should improve the mountain bike ownership experience with free service/maintenance plans or parts warranties. this idea is really intriguing, so i wanted to throw out on its own to see what you all think. bullet's original post below I think bike companies...

Jonathon Simonetti Added a comment about feature Size Does Matter - Small vs XL with Pivot Cycles
9/13/2023 2:06pm That's a fair point, we briefed a bit before starting our test that we were looking for any adverse attributes out of the ride that stood out, primarily looking at if the XL would be super flexy or that the Small would be hard to ride the same terrain on. Switching bikes to see if those became more apparent from the opposite frame sizes would be a good way to ensure we're feeling things out correctly although it'd be pretty difficult to ride such a small or large bike for either one of us haha definitely a fair question to...

9/13/2023 2:02pm We provided stack and bar height numbers from our current bikes which Pivot built the bikes to match, I felt right at home with where the bars were at even though I run 38mm rise on my current bike. As for the weight difference we'll have to look a little harder to find someone who matches the height/weight profile you suggested, just working with what we've got.

8/19/2023 1:10pm I wish we had even one company still making a proper 27.5 trail bike that could be used for slalom without crazy mods. 3rd gen 5010 was the peak it feels like.
