4/12/2023 9:17am I noticed a change to the Trek Session Factory bikes in a video they just posted. Looks like like the chainstay pivot isn’t a full cnc unit like in the past. Maybe a brace that could be changed for stiffness.

3/30/2023 10:15pm The new lever body seems to match the shape of the new stealth levers. What stood out to me is bleed port plug that matches the one found on the DB8, which uses mineral oil and makes me believe there’s some truth behind the switch to mineral oil.

Jonathon Simonetti Added a comment about feature New Wireless MTB Shifting - SRAM Transmission TESTED
3/22/2023 7:22am Referring to the UDH dropout the new derailleur and old hanger use to mount to the frame. The new derailleur has a slimmer inner profile around the dropout and the new cassette sits super close to it. There is also much less of a gap between the end cap and smallest cog on the new cassette than on the old cassette, so the end cap can’t properly slot into the old UDH hanger.

3/22/2023 6:59am Unusual that the sprocket sizes aren't quoted. Anyway they're 10,12,14,16,18,21,24,28,32,38,44,52, so they're an improvement at least.

3/21/2023 11:38am @Jonathon Simonetti Very comprehensive review, thanks! But here comes the most important question IMO: Does it actually shift any better than Shimano Deore XT or XTR?

3/21/2023 10:53am If this new XX chain is even more durable than the current model, that's an easily justifiable expense. SRAM's higher end chains are insanely durable.

3/21/2023 10:53am It does tuck into the frame more than the previous wildly expensive derailleur and still uses the override clutch feature to move when it contacts something. Should hopefully mean less derailleur strikes than before!

3/21/2023 10:52am I’ve struck the derailleur a good number of times at both the local enduro race I did and at the CA Enduro series in Ensenada I raced this past weekend. No hiccups with shifting and no broken parts!

3/21/2023 11:38am Thank you! I’m a big fan of Shimano 12 speed and have used the XT Cassette/XTR Chain with AXS on my personal bike for the last two years now as I’ve had issue with the Shimano derailleurs clutches and cages. I would say Transmission is smoother overall and shifts slightly better under load which I didn’t think was possible but it’s definitely splitting hairs.

3/18/2023 8:40pm If we're poking fun at SRAM marketing, make sure to pay attention for dropped articles in their new AXS press release, too. SRAM hates articles like "the" or "a" in front of their products names. "Lyrik has the most efficient... blah blah blah" or "Zeb is the stiffest... blah blah blah." If you or I talked like that people would think we're crazy. "I drink Coffee ® out of Mug ® that I put on Table ® while I sit in Chair ®."

Jonathon Simonetti Added a new video What's Inside a OneUp Dropper Post?
3/17/2023 11:37am Many mountain bikers are familiar with the OneUp dropper seatpost. It comes in a variety of sizes, has the ability to reduce or extend travel, and features a short overall post height so more lengths can fit inside more frames. The OneUp dropper is also easily serviceable. To prove the point, we dug into our 240mm OneUp dropper post to see exactly what was inside. Service requires common tools and about 20-30 minutes of time. We were able to fully disassemble the post, inspect all of its internal components, and reassemble it. Service manuals on the OneUp website are easy...

3/15/2023 12:30am PRESS RELEASE Following the philosophy of "continuous improvement" with the imminent introduction of the NEW ARIA damper line and to further enhance the quality and consistency of our suspension, we have developed a new Suspension Fluid with unique Viscosity Index characteristics dubbed t he Super-Thinner. We call it the “Super-Thinner” due to its “water-like” consistency and 0.80 g/cc density while also maintaining a staggeringly high viscosity index and phenomenal viscosity ratio of 40°/100°T 2.3 VcSt – 5.4 VcSt. Based on technology initially developed for our off-road/rally WRC programs, the EV2S is arguably the most stable damper fluid ever manufactured!
