I wish we had even one company still making a proper 27.5 trail bike that could be used for slalom without crazy mods. 3rd gen 5010 was the peak it feels like.

Yes you can do air can service without bleeding and only need a vice, big crescent and strap wrench

It's actually pretty smart. If you have a really big air volume and teeny tiny piston head, you're going to have a pretty constant rate of change all the way from initial stroke through bottom out. That helps you get rid of (or at least minimize) the weird s-bend air spring curve. As a bonus, a tiny piston with tiny seals has less seal drag versus a big one. Makes me wonder if we're gonna see a new Zeb air spring in the near future.

Spoke with a few of the people at Rockshox this week, and they mentioned the previous generation suspension required a lot shorter service intervals and was truly intended to be ridden for a single race weekend before needing service. Apparently, the new fork and shock were targeted at improving compression damping, durability, and reliability for those of us without the support of a pit crew.

7/14/2023 10:30am Bit of a random one, but curious what’s going on with Brendog… No Fox logos on the fork, not tagging them. Also seems to have picked up Pirelli as a sponsor recently and Sram not so long ago. Wonder if he’ll be on different suspension next?
