I had one of these. It was terrible 😂. Johnny T used to ride one made by Linn Kastan (Founder of Redline BMX)! Not sure if they sold the Kastan version or not.

I tried my best to love Transmission, but 3 problematic derailleurs in 8 months is a lot considering their price. And the worst one was when the contact pins for the battery stopped working on the first day of my Alps holiday.

I still don't get it how having the tensioner next to the tyre and so down low is a good idea. People constantly mention how low the derailleur cages are on modern drivetrains, but those are always protected by the rear wheel while the BB gets MUCH lower at bottom out. Add a rock in there and you have a slight case of hard touching.

It wasn't a comment about wear, it was a comment about installation. The complaint was that you needed a specific $100 tool for a PF BB, when you don't, you can use the same tool to install a headset. I've had PF BB's on my bikes for the past 12 years, and I've yet to have an issue with the BB. While the 12 years prior, I had multiple issues with threaded BB's wearing out prematurely etc.

Technically (when done correctly, tolerance-wise), PF beats threaded BBs. Conceptually they have a ton of advantages and not many disadvantages.

I agree.. Short stems and short chainstays make for a combination that will take weight off the front wheel.. Unless you really make an effort to ride with your shoulders lined up with the bars in corners.. I tend to ride off the back of the saddle, so the longer stem helps me get a little more weight forward..

Surprised by the hate for the 45mm stem. I'm 5-10 and run a 50mm stem on all my bikes with a 760mm bar, includinga Spire. I have a 35mm hope stem I've tried on 3 bikes and preferred a 50mm every time. Too short makes it feel like I can't put enough weight on the front wheel
