Nah, the tire stash is healthy but I'd love to get back on a TC.

Intend is direct to consumer. They aren't cutting fat discounts for anyone. Getting an intend fork at "cost" is MSRP, or a small discount if Intend feels inclined.

I also have the flash 38 but it’s being tested by a media company right now so I have a loaner zeb. Intend doesn’t care to send media samples for testing so I loaned my own for testing.

It's not, but I'd happily be tester #2 if @ jonathanheierle is feeling extra generous. I respect the hell out of Cornelius for not supplying free forks to media outlets, because it's his business and he can do whatever he wants. But on the other hand, it puts media outlets in a bind because damn we can't be dropping $2000 on a review item. I think it's super cool that @jonathanheierle is stepping up to be the middle man and make a test like that happen, out of his own pocket!

I finally got the mavens mounted and went for a ride today. Figured I'd share my experience as everyone here's been pretty helpful. I got a pair of the older Maven Silver on Pinkbike Holy shit these things are amazing! I've been a bit on the fence but finally decided to pull the. Been using Hayes dominions for the last 1-2 years and they're great but the Mavens just feel like a completely other level of control and power. In the past I've also used TRP dhr and before that code rsc. I'm only one ride in on these but...

I've had decent luck provided I do a couple rounds of sanding the rotor with fine grit sandpaper followed by rinsing with isopropyl alcohol.

Friend of mine has been beating the crap out of them ever since they were available. A lot tougher than I expected. The argument that it would be hard to source one on a trip is kind of silly. You can literally just put a couple in your pocket…

The venn diagram overlap of "has enough money to mess around with expensive parts and has an expensive bike" and "does not own proper hex keys or a bike stand" is maddening.

Actually, they had them as soon as 2011 and they had special ones for the Worlds, with the names of the riders instead of the model name. I have pictures from Champery that year. Team, except Graves, was a bunch of cool southern hemisphere juniors, like Shaun O'Connor and Brandon Yrrtiaho etc. I found a picture in the mean time. Need to look for those with tires. Mx

from Hans Rey about ebike development Link: https://hansrey.com/blog/ An Open Letter to the Bicycle Industry By Hans Rey To the leaders, builders, advocates, and riders who shape our industry, I’m writing because I care deeply about where bicycles—and electric bicycles—are headed. We are at a crossroads. The decisions we make about language, power limits, and definitions will determine whether Class 1 e-bikes remain accepted as bicycles—or get grouped with much more powerful machines that don’t belong in the same category. It’s time to define our language and it’s time to draw a line in the sand of when e-bikes become...

I went for a ride this morning with Brett Rheeder and Brook MacDonald. Brett's still rocking & pimping the Commencal and seems to be in a pretty happy place, lol he wasn't very pedal fit though!| Brooks rocking the RB helmet but everything else in his kit was unbranded still, and riding that same brown Santa Cruz.... Guess he still doesn't have a team/sponsor yet.

Heard that RMU, a ski company with shops in Truckee, whis, and breck, are launching an aluminum, DW designed all mountain bike (170 fork) that apparently pedals quite well. There’s likely to be a 140 version to follow, and potentially ebikes to follow that. Made in Taiwan. Should drop in March, curious if they’ll be at sea otter with it. Could it be this thing?

Yes. The pressure "dropping" on reconnect is the air pressurising the hose. Same mass of air has to fill a larger volume which obviously means a drop in pressure. Checking the pressure I mount the pump twice and add the delta between the two values to the first value to get the pressure that was in the shock initially. It's not exact but I think it's good enough.

Oh yeah one other thing - I described the base valve as too "soft", when actually the shims are probably quite stiff, hence the large change in force available, its just they add too much extra free bleed or bypass when you open the LSC dial. Also one small note about reading dyno graphs - the sharp bends in the curves look like valves open at a very distinct point, when actually thats just a PVP (peak velocity plot) graph which runs several speeds and only takes the peaks to make a single straight line. So the RS graph looks...
