Charlie Murray also racing and getting in the top 10 on a stumpy eco with a lyrik on the front. I think some riders are finding the lighter/shorter bikes fit their ride styles better when it comes to getting through 30-40 minutes of racing, even if it means sacrificing a bit of speed in the gnarliest stuff they’re able to save some energy and keep their avg speed up across the whole course.

Or you can toss the codes/xt 4pots in the trash, buy a pair of mt5s for $200, throw in some galfer green pads for $50 and be done.

what if... what if there's a speed sensor (like an e-bike) and this is used to automatically adjust the shock rate? At higher speeds, the shock could self-adjust and provide different ride characteristics to low-speed riding. Then, the buttons on the handlebars might be overrides?

They should stuff one of the haptic feedback motor things that Apple uses on Trackpads into the shift buttons… those things are crazy convincing! Although I’d personally prefer a mechanical shifter and derailleur any day of the week.

Except millions of dollars, a lot of time and a bunch of patents. @Sonofbovril2 buttons to the left of the grip sound much less ergonomic than a shifter pod under the handlebars if it's meant to be shifted using your thumb...

I used to run my levers almost all the way out, no idea why. Now they’re much closer to the bar with a quick bite. The less you have to squeeze the better, in terms of fatigue/arm pump/finger pump etc. Kinda like cheater reps on a leg press, it’s much easier on the muscles to squeeze 2mm than 2 inches. On an after work trail ride? Not much difference. Pinned at 170bpm 6 times a day? Adds up. Richie in particular has stated in the past that he likes a very touchy brake lever.

I can't believe this trend hasn't died out yet. Some years ago during the first big covid lockdown here in Germany, I've put a bit of research into this and looked up all the various manufacturers claims and explanation as to why these should apparently make you faster. I did not find a single one of them convincing. But back then I took it a little further and went through the the digital library of my University, which includes access to hundreds of scientific archives and databases, to look up the supposed "science" behind these products. In short, there seems...

New?! Michelin Wild Enduro tires? Can't see them mentioned anywhere online. Seems like there is additional model name MS, MH (but I'm not so familiar with Michelin). Source https://www.pinkbike.com/news/bike-check-barca-prudkovas-unno-burn-endu…

What the high pivot bike is compared to a DWLink6 bike (the Athertons) is like what a flex stay single pivot (XC/Stumpjumper) bike is compared to a horst link. The normal pivot height bike is a standard DW Link and thus has a vertical brace. It needs it, it wouldn't work otherwise. @Sonofbovril2 shows the linkage in about the samepart of the travel (and not any further) than what the video showed. And I'd really prefer a video/animation to see where it flips over (if it does of course). @krabo83 it appears they are more or less parallel to each...

Hi, Basti from SQlab here, Sorry for being late, we had a public holiday in Germany, yesterday. Upfront, I am in charge for int. Marketing here, so it is only me to blame, plus maybe our team rider Stevie, with whom I created the whole campaign idea, which the video is the most important part: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nquh2lM75X8 Before I post our official statement, I want to point out first, that on a shooting side, we simply fucked up. We never wanted the butts to look same and female on the first look. We wanted the widest spread of different butts as...

The footage is good but let's be honest, they aren't showing us the most exciting parts of the track. I want to see the fast/steep tech sections not just the wide open sections.
