2/12/2024 12:24pm Has anyone watched Katy Winton’s vlog in which she apparently divulges her 2024 program? I’m interested but I can’t be bothered to watch anybody’s vlog.

2/12/2024 12:22pm Them still being on old bikes could lend to the Yeti rumor... they're 1-off protos and there's only a few out there. It probably takes a month or 2 to make them. It's not like they just pull them off a shelf in a warehouse.

2/10/2024 9:23pm I'm no Gwin hater, but I don't think Gwin can pull that kind of salary from a frame sponsor alone when he's running his own team and not on a factory team. Maybe collectively for his whole team, but not by himself. Historically his high payouts were the result of his performance (win) bonus structure. Objectively speaking, the last time Gwin was on a WC podium was 2018. Don't get me wrong, I'm stoked he's still racing and even more stoked he's investing in bike parks, US racing, etc, but I'm not holding my breath that he's going to have...

2/10/2024 8:44pm I didn’t see the dreadnought post, but what is even the point of trying to keep it hidden? It’s going to look exactly like the new DH bike and the new Druid. Not really a surprise.

2/9/2024 12:18am I don't believe that is what's really going on for a couple of reasons. 1, rubber generally expands much more than aluminum when heated so adding heat makes the seal fit tighter. 2, when designing our calipers we found that without compression played less of a roll with pad retract than you'd think. Too little compression creates sealing issues and too much increases risk of compression set. What I think is mostly likely causing what they are experiencing is super hard braking. That happens to usually correspond with lots of heat. Since seal deflection controls pad retract, if you apply...

2/9/2024 12:17am and then removed 2 bolts to increase stiffness and power, now they went back and it will be sold as the best thing ever, typical sram, one year they say black is the best, the next year white is the best and black was not so great. changing ideas randomly

2/9/2024 12:09am While I do agree with you, I do agree with IceIceBaby more. Only from the standpoint of comparing this bike to the rest of the market. If people want to buy this new gen frame, then good for them. But it kind of blows my mind that Pivot decided to stay so conservative with its changes, especially in comparison to the rest of the market. It just looks meh.

2/2/2024 8:31pm No offense to Chris Cocalis and the Pivot team, but it really always was just about Pivot being a bunch of weirdos. Not even joking: The real reason Pivot started using 157 Superboost on the 2017 Switchblade was to be able to fit a 27,5x2.8" plus-size tire into a frame with extremely short chainstays, while also having a front derailleur. That's the real reason. Because in 2017 they still thought plus tires, short chainstays and front derailleurs were the future of mountainbiking.

1/27/2024 5:42pm As I mentioned in response to another comment here, it's not a "real" top out clunk, it's just a very minute amount in certain situations, mainly when handling the bike like walking it up some stairs or something like that. It doesn't happen when the fork is rebounding from actual on-trail events. As for the sticky clicks, this issue has no actual impact on the function of the fork, you just need to pay a little attention to what you're doing when manipulating this adjuster. Overall, the fork's performance on the trail is stellar, and these two minor issues are...

1/27/2024 12:40pm Yea, also, on this tire... On the Downtime Podcast he did a week or so ago he said 'tire selection' was perfect for his destruction of the the MSA world cup. He had this prototype on the front for that race. The more land offered by the larger knobs works well on MSA rock. ... The Argotal competitor will be very popular with Maxxis riders this season.
