I use the full range, we have ebike trails with steep climbs. What I don't need are 12 gears, I could get away with 9-10 with the same range.

Giving up his spot to riders like Sam Gale when he could race himself tells you all you need to know about Wyn IMO.

It's really funny that SRAM's sponsored elite riders are going for a setup that's less bitey with a lighter lever feel, because I got downvoted to hell on the other site for saying that the initial heavy bite was a bad thing.

With more people buying emtb's and less mtb's the mtb price will go up. For good reason emtb sales ate taking over. I think 90+% of mtb/emtb sales in germany are emtb now. Thats where its headed. That few extra km/h everywhere except the downs are too good of a feeling. Boring sections of trail are now fun. I'd have...

I dug back into the vital archives just to see how much we've kicked around these ideas (posted a handful of links below). The theme of this conversation dates back to 2017, when all the same talking points were echoed. From then to now the broad access problems e-bikes supposedly posed did not materialize. This isn't to say a few trails haven't been lost, but we've gained many more trails than we've lost in this period of time (for mtb and for e-mtb). To add, the areas we did lose trail are areas that have always been under fire due...

We had Saurons descend on our local social trail spot over the last 2 years. They are kids, their parents are ok with their kids abusing areas as long as it's not their own ( the area is surrounded by residential neighborhoods). The kids on the Saurons tore up the space in moto ways, the neighbors complained to the police, and nothing happened. Then recently the land owner brought tractors out and destroyed all two wheel related fun bits. I feel bad for the BMX and MTB teens who built some fantastically sculpted jump areas. ALL of the kids/teens in...

I only have an emtb now and id like to add an emoto. From the vids ive watched of that bonnel its looks super fun but the riders were flying into blind corners. Most will avoid doing that but those speeds were significantly higher than i'd go into a blind corner on anything, moto or mtb. If theyre not legally...
No doubt fun af but between the cyc motor and 6k watts running through that chain and frame everything will sort itself out. Theres a place for them, as long as it doesnt explode, but its not on mtb trails. Thats too fast and probably a lawsuit waiting to happen. I would like to see designated mini moto trails within...

GT seems to have only sponsored good folks. They came to my old hometown a million years back to do a bmx show. There was a 3rd rider that I don't remember, but Dave Voelker and Tom Haugan came to town. I drove those dudes to/from the airport and a couple places; super nice and seemed stoked that people were excited to see 'em. They did a demo and absolutely ripped. 100% good dudes.

I know. I wish they went for a smaller battery and slide out at the bottom with a more compact motor. I wanna see how low the weight can be with the avinox syst and a removable battery like that.

yep, I seriously love Hans, you know how they say never meet your hero's? Absolute opposite with him. Ran into him about 20km outside queenstown at a tiny pub and he was the nicest guy ever, we talked shit for easily 2 hours. Great guy and I hope he wears that GT cap forever. My MTB Hero.

Somebody asked about fork dampers on Vorsprung's IG last week, and they said "sure", or words to that effect. I emailed Vorsprung asking if they could make a 38 damper, and they replied that Steve has designs started, there is no guaranteed timeline, but that they can likely make one that's cost competitive vs the GRIP X2 and Charger 3.1 dampers. When I regained consciousness, I posted about it here.
