Other than the engagement feel, really can't a difference between both when it comes to descending. They both mitigate pedal kickback and let your suspension work more freely. If you have a DEG hub then get the DF kit. If you are in the market for a new wheelset with DEG DF then Reserve wheels is a killer cost effective option. If you already have a solid wheelset then get OChain. Also if you like to run a smaller <30T chain ring on a big heavy enduro bike then DT/e13 sidekick are really the only options. Both of the stems you listed are cold forged, meaning they are forged at room temperature. As far as forging goes, this way is slightly more optimum for resulting grain structure/strength then flow formed or cast. Since the manufacturing method is the same for both of these stems, you're paying for the surface finishing of bead blasting and painted vs anodized. What you're paying for is the surface finishing to prep for anodizing and the anodized finishing. I’m not attempting to be a hater, but I think the “move out of the way” thing is a moot point when it comes to DH drivetrains. There are merits to the overall size of transmission and its ability to move out of the way, but I think it’s a problem that doesn’t exist with super short cage DH setups. SRAM has every right to sell AXYS DH transmission but unless you’re independently wealthy and just like expensive shit there’s zero reason to buy it. And props to those guys that do I guess?
