So, if we consider: Transmission drivetrains on super sale New XD slim driver released that fits low range cassettes Everyone on your local trails is riding (or seeking to ride) a 1300-1500W eMTB and chewing up their drivetrain in a few hours Do we conclude that SRAM has a new, e-bike specific, low range drivetrain on the horizon?

I just did mine- full 200h damper rebuild as it was clunky, turned out the main piston came loose. Anyway the 100h air can service is pretty easy- need vice, strap wrench and large crescent wrench or Knipex pliers. Outer sleeve slides up a few mm exposes a snap ring- remove that then slide outer sleeve off. Unthread silver sealhead with wrench, unthread inner airsleeve with strap wrench, pull it all off, clean, swap seals and reverse reassemble. The 200h rebuild is harder, but I did manage mine without any of the special tools- I used some channel-lock pliers to...

Most ski companies want their warehouse empty by early December, remaining items are closed out by January. There is some carry out over for lower churn segments like kids and backcountry. The ski industry is still making good money by selling new top sheets and colors each year and they will probably keep going. The least technology advanced products with the least R&D cost have the best margins. Sony get me wrong, ski technology is innovating and improving but compared to a bike the tech is more mature and people typically buy with shorter time horizons in mind

Can we please not turn this into a d*ck-measuring contest regarding who rides which steep thing w/ which gearing?

Google has apparently been spying on me, and fed me this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nx5nN3kyx5k I've heard similar horror stories from other adventure cyclists - regarding the challenge of carrying a spare without damaging it.

Fred, are you just running a 2x crank in front and droppin down manually when needed for those long grinds the puttin the chain back up onto the larger ring for the descents? Some guys around here (SW Colorado, lots of long steep high altitude grinds in the high country) used to do that too. No front derailleur. Just the double ring. Takes about 10 seconds to move it between rings. I don't run that setup, but I do run a 28/52 for the same reason as you and also because its a bit easier on my knees for steep...

Also had issues with my 90 setup. Turned out to be not enough cable tension, but the weird part is it only affected one cog in the middle of the cassette. Since fixing that it’s been fantastic. Can’t remember if it was said earlier, but it sure feels like SRAM made the mechanical stuff harder to setup as a way to steer people toward AXS.

That’s pretty stupid thing to post. I bet a lot of people here have a lot of information on hundreds of bikes that are under embargo, but we’re not dickhead so we don’t just go leaking stuff. This is for people to find stuff out in the wild and post it like if a website messes up by posting a bike early or somebody sees something in the wild or spy shots or whatever not just straight up leaking stuff from your bikeshops account

Thanks for the info. I was too fearful of being disappointed with this aspect and the Flash 38 is like half a pound heavier, so I went with the G2 Mezzer LT instead with all of the stiffness but enjoy reading about ya'lls real world experiences. Thanks again!

I received mine last week and tossed it in my 36 that's on my hightower 4. I've only done some basic riding around the neighborhood so no real feedback yet. I was previously riding ~87-90 psi in this fork with 1-2 volume reducers. I just used the quick setup calculator on the ride 886 site and started with the 77/115 that the quick setup calculator suggested. I didn't expect to be able to discern much of a difference but even an initial ride around and smashing off of stuff was pretty telling. There is an immediate and obvious change in...

I would just like to call out the fact that 100% of the 6 mens elite world cups so far have been won on 148 rear ends.

I've tested a lot of these. The Intend wasn't an option when I got my Flash, but... DSD RUNT - I ran this on a Pike and couldn't get it linear enough. It felt like it spiked a lot and didn't have the volume of the Manitou implementation. It was better than stock, but I didn't get along with it. OTOH I know folks running this on their 38/Zeb and love it, so it may just be a combination of lower volume in the Pike and generally not getting along with the Pike. I've talked to a few others who...

Comparing the various triple chamber systems is useful. I always hear glowing things about it, but the EXT fork I had was such a nightmare that I've been really reluctant to try anything like that again. (Super tight bushings, insanely progressive air spring, massively overdamped.)

I would agree. Vail taking over the resort didn’t help things either. They clearly didn’t give a shit about the event and made it harder and more expensive to do just about anything. I have a lot of respect for the small CWX team but they had zero pull with the Vail team. Not great conditions for a successful event.

It's a shame there is no way to adjust the height of your handlebars. If you bike's stack is 10mm lower than you'd like you just have to put up with it.It's really unfortunate.

Competitive Cyclist mentioned another color option for a Yeti LT frameset in their video with just performance shock but now the video got edited without that option. Strange. I guess more lower options to come.
