Talk about a project, really stoked I was able to get my hands on one of these so early on in the run and support by buddy Troydon with the launch of his brand. The craftsmanship on the frame and parts from Cascade are amazing and with Cascade designing the suspension kinematics I have to assume this bike will absolutely rip. Shoutout to everyone who helped get this build going.

Since 2019 he has had four finals finishes of 47th ,63rd and placed 49th twice. I'm pretty sure normal people are supposed to buy last year's yeti for 30% off and feel like they got a deal. Glad to see the market rebound. New bike prices like everything are still quite a bit higher than pre covid, but the clearance and used market has returned to pretty reasonable levels.

Yeah I had a plastic cup SRAM one on my old Reign and didn't have any issues with it. GFRP is plenty tough if done right and plastic cups would be better for slightly out of tolerance BBs and less likely to creak than an ali one. I'd still 1000% rather a BSA threaded BB though!

The Canyon Spacers and cover/cap on the spectral has been a subject of annoyance for all spectral cf owners since the new model came out late 2020. the Headset is an is52, so nobody makes them.... as visible in the photo they have plastic cover and spacers, canyon then decided to use a big Thick alloy compression ring(which is fine) but it requires more torque to pull everything together so if you didnt torque it you had a lose headset - when you torqued it, it would deform the thin plastic cover and cause the headset to go loose everytime...

I will say this whipsaw effect of COVID could have some pretty not-so-awesome effects on R&D as we realize all COVID really did was pull future earnings forward. This, combined with a tough macro backdrop could spell for some tough times ahead for the bike industry (and this thread). That said, if a stupid "bar centering device" is any indication, maybe we've hit "peak innovation" in the bike world for a bit and the effect I'm describing above is just salt on the wound. o long as people don't mind replacing stuff at a relatively quick clip, and no competition...

Who are the product managers green lighting these things? It would take very little effort to do a "spike" and figure out "oh wait, there are lots of steering dampers out there, we may want to copy one of those IF this is actually a problem worth solving. This has to be one of the most dumb ideas I've seen in a long (long) time.

If the frame is deforming to such a degree that the shock mounts go out of alignment by a milimeter or so, you're either putting SERIOUS loads into the frame and it will soon crack or it's designed so weakly, it will soon crack.

I think that happens with fox but at this time it is the only brand that does the reverse shock, what is really wrong is the trunion system. Fox currently when it works has one of the best if not the best air shock, if I had a trunion frame I would do what the colleague has said to compensate the deviation with the bushing.

wow so that's it? Looked like the wind was dying down around 3:30mst...I swear I've seen dudes hit their runs in considerably more winded conditions...but who am I to know any better. Tyle McCaul was on a 1st place run...was most excited to see him trim the fat on that second run and fucking STOMP Gee's gap... This was a RAW as fuck Rampage course wise...Zink was also potentially going to take a top three had he completed a second run (favorite rider). Why can't they just run this event tomorrow morning, better yet why the FUCK didn't they start...

More than merely "one of the two owners" (although there is a third owner; the son of the other founder and inventor of the drink owns a tiny percentage such that neither of the two founders owns a controlling stake), Dietrich Mateschitz was the impetus behind taking the drink to the west and turning it into the advertising and sponsorship company it is today. Martin Whiteley had proposed A and B races as a solution to having a smaller main event. B on Saturday, A on Sunday, and keep riders able bust into the A group, top 5 B racers race in A the following day.
