12/18/2023 4:51pm yeah feels like with the demise of nukeproof he probably tells himself it's not really worth all the effort anymore? He's been pretty supportive of his kids moto ''careers'' in the last years too...

12/18/2023 4:50pm Respect to the Hills, wish them nothing but the best! Even if Sam was to decide to step away from racing for good…. he has nothing to prove, he’s done all that already, put his stamp of DH/Enduro racing and inspired a lot of people along the way. Given the current state of the mountain bike scene and racing I can’t blame them for taken this time out, given the kids a life that will help massively in the future if they want to pursue the Moto racing full time.

12/17/2023 4:21pm I enjoy almost all of the mtb related news outlets. Between GMBN, Pinkbike, and Vital lies the full spectrum of engagement in mountain bikes. GMBN seems to be very much novice/hobbyist focused. Very polished and produced high level overview of tech and rehashing of entry level skill development. On the other side of the spectrum you have Vital. In depth product reviews and 30min videos of a slow-mo clip of various bikes hitting the same rock over and over and over again (and I can't get enough of it!!!). Pinkbike lies somewhere in the middle. GMBN is a pint of...

12/17/2023 4:20pm I literally can not fathom that this website gets less clicks and visits than MTBR. You’ve got Robot and Schroeder testing bikes over here, compared to a website that is mainly old guys commenting on incoming weather systems and water reservoir levels that used to rate products by amount of flaming hot chilis. MIND BLOWN. I’m gonna start clicking everything, Spomer.

12/17/2023 4:17pm new Michelin tyre coming out in the new year - “Wild Enduro MS” Following suit of lots of other successful tyres on the market with the 3,2,2 centre knobs and consistent side knobs looks like a mix of DH22, Assegai and Magic Mary 👌🏼 hopefully they do them in the normal wild enduro casings and not just the racing line ones which are like 1.5kg each 😂

12/15/2023 4:48pm Everybody: "It's the rider, not the bike" Also everybody: "Rider X's results sucked when they were on brand X because that bike sucked" Back to team rumors: A particular 2023 Spanish team rider discussed in recent posts, may be spending a lot more time in the land of freedumb. Specifically, in an area (regionally) known for it's extra large heaping portion of freedumb (which was still not enough for a certain rider because other states have way morerer freedumb).

12/15/2023 4:43pm May be it's nothing but I have seen here couple of rumors about Troy Brosnan. Currently the Canyon CLLCTV Factory Team is having their firs test session to prepare for 2024 in France and as I saw from Fabien Barel's stories, Troy is not with the team. May be he just didn't want to make the big trip to Europe before the holidays, but who know, may be he is off to somewhere else. He is still posting Canyon content tough. Let's keep speculating

12/15/2023 4:40pm I don't think people are hating on the coverage because it's trendy to do so. They (myself included) are hating on it because it's an objectively worse experience as a fan compared to the RB days. The commentary from Ric and Cedric is largely asinine. I realize there's a lot of time to fill, but was Ric paid per mention of the race venue? How many times did Cedric say, "he's not stopping the bike!" when someone was going well. Uh, okay, well it is a DH race, stopping the bike is antithetical to winning. Aaron Gwin was the only...

12/15/2023 4:39pm I will preface that none of these comments are directed at any specific people in this forum or others, these are my observations based on riding all year, vital, PB, etc. I think it became trendy to hate on the new DH coverage, don't get me wrong there were problems but I felt MSA coverage this year was much better than redbulltv's of MSA last year. I also think there is this weird idea that gained traction in which people are saying that the UCI are trying to kill downhill and things of that nature. I really don't think the...

12/15/2023 4:36pm agreed, but more money from subscription fees and team entry fees to UCI/WBD has made viewing more challenging and a lot of racers/team managers explained that last year provided a less valuable experience on site w/ pit space, access etc. to me those aren't benefits. we have not heard what the race-day product will actually look like next year (# of racers, format etc). if it's limited pro field (top 30 men and top 10 women only in finals), i won't subscribe. i love downhill racing, vital will continue to sink tens of thousands of dollars into having lawlor and...

12/15/2023 4:35pm similar to what @Fresh Bike Service, Inc. says, purely based on the countless anecdotal cases i've heard of people not tuning into 2023 live race footage, i'd be skeptical of live viewing numbers from 2023 matching 2022 and earlier. BUT neither red bull nor gcn/disco/wbd share those viewing stats, and maybe it's a USA-specific thing i'm hearing about. maybe the bulk of views come from other countries where people watched both seasons/platforms more equally. with that said, the "red bull years" can still be watched, free online. https://www.redbull.com/int-en/live/uci-mountain-bike-world-cup-2022-le… - this probably doesn't account for too many new views once the...

12/15/2023 3:04am Since this is Team Rumours, heard from a friend who lives in Cali, who heard from a friend, that Norton and Pinkerton will be on Mondraker. I assume that is the new Mondraker factory team. As for Intense, Jeff said on the Vintage Downhill Podcast that they will be focussing on young North American talent, so I guess that they could maybe have an own factory team of juniors, but also be a frame sponsor on MS. I honestly hope for that and it would be a genius move, that could maximise their exposure, with these two fronts. A side...
